Colorado’s Best Ski Resorts

Now is the time to beat the holiday rush, and carve first tracks before the lift lines begin. Colorado is home to some of the world’s best ski slopes, from the rustic backcountry of Crested Butte – to the endless groomed trails of Vail. Whether you are looking for the rustic and no-frills serendipity of nature, or the luxury high-life of Aspen, Colorado has got you covered.

Here is a list of the best ski resorts in Colorado for the 2015-16 season:

Aspen and Snowmass

Aspen is world-renown for its luxury high-life and après-ski scene. With designer shopping and gourmet restaurants, Aspen has long been the destination of the international jet-set. Snowmass, Aspen’s younger and larger cousin, is close by, offering tremendous terrain and views of the beautiful Maroon Bells.

Vail Ski Resort

Vail has the third-largest terrain of any ski resort in North America. When taking one of the two main gondolas to the top of the first peak, you quickly discover the several connecting mountains that are a part of this larger recreation area.

Breckenridge Ski Resort

Breckenridge features a variety of terrain: long groomed trails, monster mogul runs, steep chutes, glades and plenty of family-friendly beginner areas. The resort is one of the first to allow snowboarding. After a day on the slopes relax in the hot tub in this mountain hideaway.

Copper Mountain

Copper has one of the best layouts on the whole mountain – beginner, intermediate, and expert runs are clustered together – while the moguls stay at the top. Enjoy this beautiful copper mountain condo after a day of skiing.

Keystone

Keystone features three mountains full of bowls, steeps, trails, a lift-serving tubing hill and one of the state’s longest ski days. Skiers can watch the sun set at 11,000 feet and ski into the night. Accommodation? Try this gorgeous 1 bedroom condo @Keystone.

Echo Mountain

Looking for a ski area near Denver? Echo Mountain is a perfect choice, approximately 45 minutes from Denver. Great for families, Echo Mountain boasts a beginning to intermediate terrain, and has more affordable lift tickets. Check out this brand new condo close to the slopes.

Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin)

Looking for a huge vertical drop with the highest skiiable terrain in North America? Arapahoe Basin has you covered. Enjoy 2,270' ft of unadulterated powder, within a mere 1h 15m drive from Denver. A-Basin does not have some of the fancier amenities of the more expensive resorts, but it does have some of the most stunning views in Colorado - for a lot less money. If you want to save even more, skip the hotel and check out this nearby townhome.
