Sitting on a bluff above the Ellijay River, on 120 acres of private, secluded property, our cabin has a beautiful view of five mountain ridges leading to the Tennessee Divide. You can walk the hiking trail leading from the cabin down to the river and fish or splash in the shallow rapids by the island. The hiking trail runs along the river through a native rhododendron forest and circles back up to the cabin. Or just relax in the hot tub on the covered deck and enjoy the view. Be sure to make smores at the campfire as you watch the sunset in the cool of the early evening!
Our cabin, Five Ridge Bluff, has three bedrooms, each with a unique decor. The master, or 'Georgia Coast' bedroom, has a king bed, a sitting area, a large walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower. The 'Western' bedroom has a queen bed, and the 'Georgia Country' bedroom has two twin beds. These two bedrooms share the downstairs bathroom.
The fully equipped kitchen opens into the living area and the outside covered deck, which has a BBQ grill and a hot tub. The living area is equipped with HD TV, a large DVD collection, and books and games for a rainy afternoon.
Everything is provided for your comfort -- linens and towels, bath amenities, paper goods, coffee filters, cleaning products including laundry and dish soap, and assorted spices in the well equipped kitchen. All you need to bring is your clothes and food!
There is even a private shooting range (only used by our rental guests) for target practice only -- no hunting! We do like to protect the native deer and wild turkeys that you will accassionally see.
If you would like to venture out, the town of Blue Ridge is only 10 miles to the north, and Ellijay is 10 miles to the south. Blue Ridge is known as an art center, and for its unique shops along Main Street. Don't miss the most popular apple house in the area -- Mercier's Orchards -- only a few miles north of Blue Ridge.
Ellijay is known for its Apple Festival in the fall and its numerous antique shops. We especially like Black Bear Antiques in the Ingles shopping center. There are numerous local and chain restaurants in both Blue Ridge and Ellijay.
For the outdoors person there are plenty of activities in the area -- waterfalls (abundant!), white water rafting, hiking, zip-lining, mountain bike trails, horseback riding, and more! We keep brochures (and maps) in the cabin to inform you of many of these activities.
