About Beverly and Philip
Phil had a dental practice in Oklahoma City when he met Beverly (surgical PA in Albuquerque) at a military medical conference 1980. Both were Reserve medical officers (Phil--Air National Guard, Beverly--Navy/Marines), with several overseas deployments. With 2 weeks notice of OEF deployment, Phil sold his house and private dental practice in OKC and moved to ABQ. Days prior to his flight for duty i ... more +
Why This Property?
Although Beverly grew up in a large, High Plains farm family; she had lived elsewhere during her college/medical training, and then subsequent surgical/military career. When Beverly/Phil/Belinda were visiting their Dad in Amarillo Nursing Home for Father's Day 2015, they rented a cabin in Palo Duro Estates. They were mesmerized by the beauty and tranquility of the area. It was shocking that this " ... more +

Completely Satisfied!
Date of Stay: December 21st , 2018

We have enjoyed beautiful family time in the cozy, comfortable, well decorated and fully stocked home! The view is amazing with lovely, large windows to enjoy it. We have used the grill, enjoyed the outdoor seating, observed neat wildlife, had a cozy fire in the fireplace, loved the whirlpool bathtub...the weather was beautiful for December so we did some adventure hiking, went to Cadillac Ranch near Amarillo, and just soaked in all the time with family. Beverly is an amazing and gracious hostess, going above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, even providing extra treats for Christmas. We would love to spend time here again!

Amazing location!!
Date of Stay: September 21st , 2018

Our time at the Nocona lodge overlooking Palo Duro Canyon, could not have been better. Miss Beverly is the most gracious hostess, even greeting our group with freshly made brownies and guacamole! The lodge is exactly as advertised with luxurious bedding and amenities. Location is perfect for exploring Palo Duro with a group or family. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is an amazing value for the most special accommodations. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to returning in the near future.

Perfect and beautiful resort vacation home
Date of Stay: August 9th , 2018

We wanted a place to spend time with our son who was returning from deployment and for him to be in a relaxed and family friendly situation to reconnect with his children. There were 3 adults, two teens and a pre-schooler in our time at Nocona Lodge. The home is beautiful, fully furnished, clean and spacious! Outdoor views are spectacular, and quietly resting close to the rim of the canyon. The fenced yard is a blessing, so that children and pets are contained. Hiking, biking and skateboards were all used by our family with no traffic concerns and nice pavements to run on. The lodge is close enough to town for quick runs if necessary, but far enough to be away! Pantry and cupboards are completely stocked, and a bonus is the availability of washer and dryer. The weather was perfect, and the time was precious! Our hostess, Beverly, greeted us and had snacks and treats waiting, with an amazing gift of hospitality!

Spectacular views and accomodations
Date of Stay: August 7th , 2017

My family (3 adults and 2 kids) had a relaxing stay at this beautiful home minutes from Palo Duro Canyon. We came even though there was rain in the forecast and I am SO glad we did. The weather was nice for hiking in the park and relaxing at the lodge. The home had everything you needed to sleep, make meals in the kitchen/on the grill, or relax on the back patio. Host Beverly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We were also able to catch the Texas Musical that plays inside the canyon as well go on an excellent geology tour that was led by a state park ranger. We also went into Canyon, TX for lunch and grocery shopping. We visited the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum which was excellent and had more exhibits than we could see in one visit. I would definitely visit here again. Thanks!
