Thank you for your reservation and welcome to our home! We hope you will leave a review after your stay. These reviews are important in assisting those considering our properties and it tells us where we fall short.
We hope the following will answer some of your questions. At the bottom of this information you will find links for things to see and do in the area.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
โข Check-in Time is 4pm - and - Check-out Time is 10am.
โข The address is: 628 (Large Home) or 658 (Small Cabin) Chisholm Creek Road, Dugspur, VA 24325.
โข The home will have a key pad on the door. Enter the last four digits of your phone number for entry.
โข The house has a landline in the event your cell phone does not work.
โข Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and on the deck. There is no password to assess the Wi-Fi at the large home. However the small cabin does have a Wi-Fi password. Password is (littlecabin658) no caps or spaces.
PETS: Please be courteous and be sure to pick up your dog poop in the immediate area outside the home/cabin. On day of departure, please do a walk thru outside and pick up any mess that you might have missed.
Also, on day of departure, please strip bedding off all used beds and leave on floor. Start a load of towels. Any dirty kitchen items, place in dishwasher and start.
GROCERIES: Please be sure to bring all food/beverages that you may need before you arrive as the closest store is approximately 15-20 minutes one-way. The house has all pots/pans/coffee maker/toaster/oven/stove/washer/dryer/fridge/dishwashing liquid/paper towels/cleaning supplies - etc. Soap/Towels/toilet paper and a hair dryer are provided - as well as bedding/pillows/blankets. Basically, you will just need your own personal toiletry and food.
CARETAKER: We have a housekeeper that keeps the place clean pre and post. Bob Chamberlain is our property manager his number is: 276-233-4768 and his email is blueridgeventures@gmail.com. He will be available if you have any problems or need assistance.
SMOKING: No smoking inside the house. You may smoke outside.
FIRE PIT: The small cabin does have a fire pit because it is located so as not to cause a forest fire. If you are renting the small cabin you may wish to contact our caretaker, Bob Chamberlin. to have wood waiting for you upon arrival. He can be reached at 276-233-4768 or via email at bob@blueridgeventures.com. There is a hose that reaches the fire pit so please make sure the fire is out when you go to bed in the evening.
Your Thoughts: We placed an album on the coffee table in the great room IN THE LARGE HOME with local places to visit, map, etc. You may also want to ask the Chamber of Commerce to mail you information as well. http://www.gcgchamber.com/ The Chamber has a section that you can complete online for local area information.
CATERING: We have a catering service that is available upon request. Please contact Bob Chamberlain at: 276-233-4768 for details.
CANCELLATION POLICY: We know that plans can go astray, however, we rely on advance reservations, and cancellations may not be readily refilled. To be fair to all concerned, our policy is as follows: If a reservation is cancelled 30 days or more prior to the arrival date, then the pre-payment will be refunded less a $50.00 administrative fee. If a reservation is cancelled within 30 days of the arrival date, refunds will be dependent upon re-renting the property. You may not change your reservation to new date within the 30 day cancellation period. The reservation may not be changed to a shorter length of time. Extension to stays is subject to availability. All guests are financially responsible for the time reserved; there will be no refunds due to weather, change of plans, or early departures. For Trip Cancellation Insurance: Call AIG Travel Guard at 1-800-826-4919 and give agent ID # 00407750.
FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS โ Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment and the party will not be permitted to check in.
WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS โ Any exception to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance of arrival.
PARKING โ. The home has a two car garage in addition to parking in the driveway.
FOREST FIRES OR INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES โ No refunds will be given unless:
โข The National Weather Service orders a mandatory evacuation of the residence.
โข Road Closures prevent access
In the case of a mandatory evacuation, any refund will be commensurate with the days lost. Beyond this we will take a look at each situation and make a determination. It is simply not possible to foresee every conceivable circumstance.

The owners of the property are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The homeowners are also not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of any guests. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises. By Signing below, I agree to all of the terms and conditions of this agreement.
WAIVERS โ Guests are responsible for injury resulting from climbing on railings, operating the hot tubs at over 104 degrees Fahrenheit, injury caused by the use of firearms, bows & arrows, four wheelers, motorcycles or motor bikes, ATVs, he use of boating or fishing equipment and/or, swimming in Laurel fork Creek. The same is true fort the building of fires or the use of a fire pit. Smoke Detectors and fire extinguishers are not to be disabled or removed.
