We spent a week here, my wife and I, our daughter and her husband and our 3 grandchildren. This is without a doubt the best beach house we have ever rented. We have rented many homes along the eastern seaboard, but Fish Tales came out tops in every department. The house is well designed....never at any time did we feel cramped or on top of one another. Lots of space, lots of bathrooms, multiple televisions. The furnishings are very comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped. The private beach and dock are wonderful. I canโt say enough about them. Our grandkids were in the water, on the beach, or on the dock from early morning till late evening. Kayaking on the bay and also in the large tidal pond behind the house was also a lot of fun. This is the perfect spot for a relaxing beach getaway. The island has a well stocked general store, a few small restaurants, and then best of all there is Skinners. This is a fish market which will prepare your seafood for you. Outstanding!! Order a shore dinner/low country boil. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Fish Tales is a beautiful home, located on a beautiful unspoiled island. Ron the owner is a pleasure to work with. He cannot do enough to make sure you have every opportunity to enjoy the many features his wonderful home offers. We recommend it without hesitation. Lachlan and Dolores Cameron.
Fish Tales is an amazing place for a beach vacation. The house was spacious and very clean. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were awesome. There was 8 in our party and we never felt crowded. The private dock was the best for just chillin out or fishing. We caught fish from the deck each time we fished and had a great time. From the deck you could watch schools of small fish, stingrays, and we watched dolphins in the evening. Sunsets are like none you've ever seen from the swing on the private deck. The set up in the garage area with hot and cold water was great for clean up coming from the beach or getting ready to grill out. The owners are the best, and most helpful. Will be back.
This is the third year we have rented from Ron and Linda and we will keep coming back. Beyond our love of Dauphin Island, they have provided such a wonderful house that makes our trips such fun. The home is spacious, clean and very well kept. The lot, with the private pond and deck, provide hours of fun fishing, crabbing, swimming and kayaking. We traveled this year with our 3 kids, ages 13 to 18 as well as the grandparents and a great time was had by all. Ron and Linda go out of their way to make sure the home is ready and welcoming. For anyone new to the area, they have a booklet of things to do and see as well as where to eat and shop locally. The home sits on the Mississippi Sound side of the island with a wonderful view of the Gulf. You can't beat sitting out on the deck, watching the sunsets, hearing the waves and feeling the warm breezes. We thank you again for the use of your home and are looking forward to our visit next year.
We absolutely loved Fish Tales!! This was a girl's trip, 4 women and I took my 2 dogs. The house was immaculately clean, fully equipped kitchen, the whole house was fully stocked including games and books. Beautiful beach view from front windows and bay view which is gorgeous from the back. We enjoyed the dock, which had benches and a swing, great place to go read or just sit and enjoy. We love Dauphin Island and love Fish Tales, we will definitely be going back!
We loved staying at Fish Tales! We took our 4 kids, 2 dogs, and the grandparents, and everyone loved it. The bay side, the dock and the little pond were favorites for fishing, swimming, taking the dogs in the water, and just watching the sunrise and set. The ocean is truly a short walk across a street that isn't busy. It was lovely! We typically stay somewhere along the FL panhandle and this island was so shockingly quiet that we practically felt like we had it to ourselves! It was the relaxing vacation we needed. Oh, and the shrimp from Skinner's was to die for!
