Before the area's cabins had addresses they were given names. The Mariposa (butterfly and a flower) has retained its name, since its beginnings as a vacation getaway in the 1930s.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Mariposa Cabin. We stayed for a total of 4 days. We were looking for a quiet, cozy place to rest after a day of adventuring. That is exactly what we got. We especially enjoyed grilling out in the evenings and watching the sunrise with the birds feeding right by the bedroom window. The owners were very easy to contact when checking in and out. This cabin was the perfect location for all the outdoor sightseeing we had planned. The cabin has a gorgeous view of the mountains. We would highly recommend this cabin for those looking for a special little mountain getaway.
