About Holly & Scott
Scott grew up skiing in Vermont and we wanted to share the experience with our kids. We have owned the home since 2016 and have been busy with renovations and upgrades. During the projects, we have still been able to enjoy the house in all seasons and use it enough to figure out what was still needed in the kitchen, etc. We feel that it is finally at a place that we can share it with others and ... more +
Why This Property?
We loved the unconventional look of the house and the private setting. The kids can play in the woods around the house or we can walk down the road to the river for swimming, fishing, or tubing. A short drive away and we can hike on the Appalachian Trail or the Long Trail, visit cute towns like Woodstock, tour ice cream factories, cheese makers, or breweries. They say you come for the winters b ... more +
Unique Benefits
Our house has a small, covered, deck off the dining room for grilling and/or dining or just enjoying a cup of coffee or glass of wine. A firepit and camp chairs can be set up on the driveway, which provides a fantastic location for star gazing (and s'more eating)! A swimming hole at Peavine Park is just a 15 minute walk from the house and makes for a lovely, leisurely afternoon. In the winter, ... more +

Nice place
Date of Stay: June 19th , 2019

We enjoyed our stay! The beds were comfortable, the porch was awesome, and they provided all the supplies we could have needed (linens, paper products, kitchen stuff, etc.) The House was in the perfect location for our visit to a Killington wedding. We also appreciated the notebook with suggestions of things to do! A couple of suggestions: we arrived at night and it was difficult to find the house for our first time, although we used the provided instructions - perhaps the driveway could have a more visible marker? It was rainy and warm the first couple of days, so the house was especially damp. Everything felt sticky. Definitely could benefit from a dehumidifier. The in-house notebook mentions the occasional bug, but I think the damp summer weather definitely brought them out in droves. Be prepared for that if youโ€™re visiting in the warmer seasons. Finally, when they say โ€œno cell serviceโ€, itโ€™s not an exaggeration! There is literally no service for miles around the cabin. Bring a map or take screenshots of information you need! All in all, with a couple tweaks, the cabin would be perfect! We would absolutely visit again!

Ideal getaway
Date of Stay: January 24th , 2018

We do a lot of home rentals and really loved our time here. The house is well stocked with kitchen needs, linens, blankets, wood for the fire, etc. We really appreciated the binder with instructions on using items around the house, local area information and โ€œhouse quirksโ€. You can tell the owners took great care to anticipate questions guests may have and tried to leave the answers in this book. We had 4 adults, 3 kids and an older teenager. Everyone loved their stay and we all agreed we would return. The location is an easy drive to Killington and a slightly longer and scenic drive to Sugarbush. Close to lots of fun.

Fabulous Home
Date of Stay: December 29th , 2017

We spent a fabulous long weekend at this very charming house. It is super comfortable, very clean, very well stocked not only with the essentials, but way beyond that with everything a family (or two, or three) could need and more, pretty much like your own home. Snowman making kit- check, forgot to bring coffee filters- not a problem, spices -more types than I have at home, wood for the fireplace- check, netflix/apple TV - check, champaigne glasses - check, to mention just a few of the extra details the owners thought of. The owners were super responsive to every one of our needs, both before and during our stay. There were clear instructions for everything. The house is very nicely decorated and located in a quiet, yet easily accessible location. We enjoyed skiing at the nearby Killington, the pool and jacuzzi at an area spa, and left with wanting to try out snowshoeing and other fun activities nearby. We highly recommend this vacation home.
