The open concept, great room is perfect for those family gatherings and for spending time together. There are beautiful hardwood floors and wood trim throughout, a gas fireplace, large sectional and amazing views, complete the living room. The kitchen opens to the dining and living room and has lots of room to prep and cook meals with granite counters, breakfast bar and walk-in pantry.
The second floor of the home features 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, along with a knotty pin sleeping porch for enjoying the view or additional sleeping. Also, the open suite in the lower level has a 70" screen TV, game room and guest suite with sleeping for 4 along with its own private full bath. Our home is perfectly laid out for multiple families or a couples' get away. The home contains cable TV and WIFI throughout.
MAIN FLOOR:
The open concept is great for spending time together. The kitchen opens to both the dining area and living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything a cook would need. There are beautiful granite counters with a gas stove for cooking. We enjoy cooking while in our home, so you should find everything required for a gourmet meal.
Kitchen: place settings for 12, coffee maker, toaster, blender, mixer, oven and gas stove, microwave, french door refrigerator
Dining: table for 8 plus 4 barstools on counter
Living: Large, comfy sectional sofa, TV with cable and DVD player, gas fireplace.
Porch: Covered porch with seating for 4 and gas grill right off the dining and living area.
2ND FLOOR:
The upstairs has 3 bedrooms, plus the sleeping porch and sleeping for 8 people.
Master Bedroom: King size bed with high end linens, walk in closet, and master bath with double sinks and glass walk in shower.
1st Bedroom: Queen size 4 poster bed including high end linens and full closet.
2nd Bedroom: Full size bed including high end linens and full size closet.
Main Bath: Full hallway bath with tub/shower combo shared by bedrooms 1 & 2.
Sleeping Porch: Gorgeous knotty pine, year-round porch off the master and 2nd bedroom. It is lovely sitting out here enjoying the view on the chaise lounge or you can convert the sitting area to sleeping for 2 with the futon and sofa bed.
LOWER LEVEL
There is a ton of space for multiple uses in the lower level. The studio suite has room for entertaining, extra sleeping, family game night, or a place for the kids to get away. The lower level sleeps 4.
Sleeping: Queen size Adirondack log bed with high end linens. Also there are bunk beds in their own separate nook.
Relaxing: Large sectional sofa, 70" flat screen TV with Cable and DVD player.
Gaming: Foosball table, PS3 game system, puzzles and board games.
Outdoors: From the lower level, walk right outside to a covered patio. There is sitting on the patio for dining or enjoying the view. You will find a fire pit to enjoy the nights and stocked with firewood. Also, there are steps leading to the shore of the Chubb River for some fishing or paddling.
Amenities: All high end linens provided. Puzzles, games, DVD collection and books are there for you to enjoy.

We had a wonderful time at the Otter House. It is a great location, comfortable and spacious layout and super clean. The view and setting in the back of the house are serene day and night. It is stocked with everything, and all basically brand new. The house is a short drive to Main Street and all the Olympic sites, Whitefacd too, as well as other great Adirondack activities ...truly a great home base for those who want to just relax, or those who want to be super active ...or those looking for both! The owners are very friendly, very well organized, and always accessible for questions or advice on the area. We had a great time and a great experience with this home...big thanks to the owners!
Our family had a 5 night stay that we booked last minute right before Christmas. We chose Lake Placid because we knew the weather was unseasonably warm and skiing was going to be tough so we decided to go to a place with other things to do. The home was perfect, very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The beds and linens are upscale and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked. We like to cook so having a nice workable kitchen is important to us. We used the outdoor grill as well. There were only 6 of us so we didn't need the bottom floor living area but what great space for larger groups and kids. We enjoyed the water view and how bright and open the home is. We took advantage of the easy walk to Main Street in the village. Fantastic home, would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
My friends and I set off to Lake Placid for a girl's weekend and it was fabulous. We stayed at the Otter House and it truly exceeded all of our expectations. This house is AMAZING! It's beautiful, comfortable, cozy and spacious. We were able to enjoy all of the lovely amenities including, but not limited to riding bikes, game room and most of all, we were able to enjoy a campfire right in the back of the home while we overlooked the lake. All of the linens were plush and that truly made it possible to enjoy the restful nights as much as we enjoyed our time during the day. We would love to return and highly recommend it to others. Thanks for sharing your home with us. The memories we created here will last a lifetime.
This house was the perfect meeting point for an extended family getaway. Our family was traveling from Ohio and Maine and found this home to be the perfect backdrop for a lovely vacation. The house was extremely clean and the decor was similar to what you would see in a shelter magazine. The home was spacious and perfect for multiple families to vacation together. To top things off, the owner arranged for lovely flowers to be delivered for a very special occassion being celebrated during our stay. I would highly recommend this home to others.
