About Robert Gerend
We are now happily retired. We spend early Spring and late Fall at our 2 adjacent Hayden Lake homes that we have owned for years. The kids are grown up now so we rent the homes to guests who are looking for a fun vacation at beautiful Hayden Lake. We have made many new friends who have come back each year during the five years we have made the homes available for vacation rental.

Here is a review from one of our guests:
just arrived home from our second stay at the Gerends lake cabin on Hayden Lake. And once again...too wonderful for words. We spent many hours just lounging on the huge wrap around deck, barbecuing, entertaining friends, and soaking in the truly incredible lake view spread out in front of us. In fact, before we left, we both just stood on the deck, silent, I know both thinking the same thing: "I don't want to forget this view." It's a truly rejuvenating spot, and you just can't visit without feeling wonderful. There are even MORE water toys than our last visit, which I didn't think was possible! We both used the SUP boards, the canoe, the Seacycle, the paddle boat, and misc. other items that were available. I don't think we could have worked our way through all of the water toys in a week's time! They have a wonderful little sandy beach cove, with stairs to access it, and we loved throwing floaties for our dog from there. There's also a huge rock to jump from, and just so many great things to do, including hiking up behind the cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits with Jeanne, the onsite manager. She is wonderful! She checked in on occasion to make sure we had everything we needed, which was so nice. The home is so well stocked, it's almost unbelievable. Right down to clips to hold on the outdoor tablecloth! My husband asked if I brought those. I said "Nope! The Gerends have thought of everything!" The home is clean, comfortable, and has everything you will need for your stay. Should you need to run into town, it's less than 20 minutes away.

Here is one of our reviews:My husband and I, our parents from out of state and our chocolate lab had the pleasure of spending five nights at this Hayden Lake retreat in June. The house is clean and well equipped with everything you might need, from a fully functioning kitchen with all the accessories to a washer and dryer and gas barbeque. The view from the living room looks straight out to the lake with floor to ceiling windows and we spent many hours relaxing, chatting and enjoying the view. There are numerous water toys and flotation devices down on the dock that are available for use and evening fishing from the dock is a great way to round out a relaxing day. The house has a big deck also facing the lake with two gas bbq's, lounge chairs and plenty of seating for outside entertaining. The location is quiet even with boats zipping by on the lake and in the early evening you'll hear the kids singing from the church camp across the lake. There are plenty of grocery stores, gas stations, and a WalMart in the town of Hayden if you need supplies or a fishing license, it's about a 20 minute drive back around the lake to get to town. The owners are very responsive and easy to work with and there is a local property manager who checks in to see if everything is ok and if you need anything. She's very informative about the area if you have any questions. If you're looking for fancy, you won't find that here. It's a house in the woods where you can relax and rejuvenate. Clean, comfortable and quiet. You will not be disappointed with this lakeside rental.
Here is another review:This was our 3rd year at this property and we had another great week. The canoe, paddle board, sea cycle, kayaks & all other water toys were used to their max. The weather was great! The beds are very comfortable & the kitchen well stocked.
Unique Benefits
There are no better views of the lake and mountains on Hayden Lake. That, combined with the large covered floating dock, mid-deck, diving rock and 10 free water craft, make for a lot ov vacation fun for the dollar.

Here is another review:The Gerends are super nice people with 2 great cabins next to each other on the east side of Hayden Lake. Next year we'll rent them both and bring both sides of the family! It wasn't clear from the writeup that the cabins share an U-shaped dock but it's very large so worked out fine with our neighbors. The dock highlights are all the water toys and a massive rock that kids can climb up and jump into the water. The cabin itself is well-appointed and cozy, the king-sized beds were very comfortable, and the wraparound deck is phenomenal -- plenty of seating, great views of the lake and sunsets, and thankfully not a single mosquito! We had never spent time on Hayden before so this is not a knock on the cabin, but it is very busy and popular lake. Tons of young people on big power boats cranking music, and there is a big church camp across the way with lots of celebrating throughout the day and into the evening. If you are looking for a quiet lake experience, fall is probably a better time to stay at this cabin. But if you have kids or don't mind a lot of activity on the water, this is the place!
Note to people who fish: we scouted out the lake pretty well, turns out the best fishing is right smack in the middle of the lake straight out from the dock. Despite the heat wave, we caught huge crappies, a few nice trout, and even a big northern pike (all on Rapalas). The kids caught lots of nice-sized bluegills right off the dock using a single salmon egg on the end of a hook.
Thank you Pat & Bob for a wonderful stay!
