We live in Vancouver on the waterfront and consider ourselves to be 'water people'. Our annual Mexican vacation centers around the pool, the beach, snorkelling and scuba diving. Puerto Aventuras offers us that and so much more.

We have been going to Mexico for the month of December for the last 12 years and for 7 of those years we have been renting at Villa del Mar. Our favourite thing to do in Puerto Aventuras is just to relax by the pool and and enjoy the breathtaking views of the ocean and beach. The waters are calm which makes it excellent for snorkelling. Equipment can be rented right off the beach. The little town is center around the Dolphin Discovery Program. There are many outdoor restaurants, great for either grabbing a quick snack or a relaxing dinner. If you want to try the adventure of deep sea fishing or scuba diving you need only walk five minutes to get on a boat. There is many other attractions within a twenty minute drive. Visit Tulum to see the ancient Mayan ruins and gorgeous beaches. Xcaret is an eco-park that features sea turtles, snuba, underground rivers, butterly pavilion, and a spectacular Mayan cultural show. X-Plor is a brand new attraction featuring zip lines, exploring an underground paradise, and jungle exploration on an incredible amphibious ATV!. Horseback riding, shopping, and nightlife in Playa del Carmen are also just 15 minutes away.
It is a very safe place for children which was very important to us at the time of purchase.
