This private home on a dirt road offers the best of Vermont. Close to Woodstock and all it's amenities and interesting sites and close to several ski areas(Suicide Six, Okemo). It has a 2 stall barn and paddock for those traveling with equines. It's a 2 bedroom/2bath log cabin (additional camp like sleeping is also provided in the basement) It can sleep up to 6 people. The cabin is complete with all the comforts of home- fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, wood stove with firewood provided, deck with bar-be-que grill, and a fire-pit to toast s'mores over. Linens, towels, paper products, glassware, flatware, cookware all provided as well as a dishwasher to make clean-up easy. There is a washer & dryer in the basement. There's a hammock for the lazy days, 2 women's bikes and a sled which finishes out the seasonal outdoor activities. The cabin is 3 miles from South Woodstock and the Green Mountain Horse Assoc. grounds and 5 miles from Woodstock. It's an area known for biking and hiking and breathing the fresh Green Mountain air. I fell in love with this cabin the minute I saw it and bought it for a second home in 2001. Since then I've bought a larger property nearby to accommodate my horses and the cabin has become a favorite of my vacation rental guests who return year after year.

Why This Property?
I'm from Maryland and I love to escape the heat and humidity by coming to Vermont where the air seems so fresh. The cabin sits on a quiet dirt road yet is only 5 miles from Woodstock with it's wonderful restaurants, little quaint shops, golf and cross-country skiing in Winter. The downhill skiing is only 8 miles away in Pomfret at Suicide Six or a half hour away at Okemo. Killington is 45 min. awa

The cabin sits away from the road and faces the woods so watching hummingbirds and listening to the brook from the deck is a soothing pastime.

The cabin is comfortable and feels like a home away from home was equipped as my second home. All the appliances in kitchen that you need are there as well as the staples for cooking a delicious meal. Nearby markets carry a lot of local meats and veggies so that a fresh gourmet dinner is at your fingertips. When you arrive you will find the cleaning lady has made the beds and put out towels for you. After you depart just put the dirty laundry in a basket for her to take care of. We just ask that you clean up spills during your stay so that a regular cleaning is all that's needed to get ready for the next guests. There is a washer, dryer, paper products, flatware, dishes, glassware and numerous cooking pots and pans. A hammock is in the basement that you can hang on the hooks on the tree near the fire-pit and in the spring through fall the picnic table is down by the brook. Your well behaved pets are welcome - we do ask that you keep them under your control at all times as livestock are in the pastures of the adjacent farms. If you want to bring an equine or two there is a barn and small paddock and numerous dirt roads and trails for riding.
