Welcome to our Historic cottage built in Circa 1871. This home is perfect for your getaway. We are located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada just 15 minutes from the great Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and in the heart of wine country.

Welcome to our Historic cottage built in Circa 1871. This home is perfect for your getaway. We are located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada just 15 minutes from the great Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and in the heart of wine country.
When you arrive at the cottage you will be blown away by all the historic amenities we offer. When you enter the cottage you’ll be greeted by the beautiful natural pine wood floors, original windows and doors of 1871; this is truly are very unique charming, cozy and quaint cottage. The cottage is furnished with hand made eclectic period furniture and most of the furniture has been built by a Niagara Master Carpenter/Artist and all the furniture is hand picked by the owner herself, Maria Rekrut, award winning author.
This two bedroom, two bathroom cottage sleeps six comfortably with one king bed, one queen bed, and a pull out futon located in the sitting area. We also provide you with a full kitchen for all your meals.
The cottage also has central air conditioning, central heating, two fireplaces, restful feather beds with fabulous Egyptian cotton linens, Turkish towels, bathrobes, slipper and lavender bath amenities. Free high-speed wireless Internet, Cogeco TV are available for guests at Niagara on the Lake Cottage Rental. Our private driveway allows up to three cars to park.
While staying at the cottage, we also invite you to enjoy our Heritage Legacy Garden. This is the perfect place to unwind and relax during your vacation. You will find a wide varitey of flowers in this garden and trees that are 70 years old. This is a garden you would have found in Circa 1871. Everything about this home, including the garden is historic.

This is the perfect place to unwind and relax during your vacation. Although the beautiful city of Niagara Falls in only 15 minutes away, the small town at Niagara-on-the-Lake has much to offer. This historic town is filled with many different activities and adventures. Just step outside the door of our cottage and find yourself exploring this wonderful town.
We have public access three blocks away from the town centre to go shopping, eat at restaurants, and spend Friday nights at various pubs. Our cottage is near the theater district which is a short distance from the Royal George, Courthouse theaters, and Festival Theater.
If have an interest in wineries, we can arrange for a Winery Tour company to pick you up and bring you back safely after a day of sampling wine.
If you're interested in exploring the wine trails on your bike, starting in front of the cottage are groups of cyclist leaving to go bicycling on our wine trails.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Maria Rekrut holds an M.A. Degree in vocal solo performance from the Conservatory of Music "S. Cecilia", Rome, Italy and from the Escuela Superior de Canto, Madrid, Spain.

Maria has a won a number of international music festival awards and scholarships for her vocal interpretive design of chamber and recital music from Italy, Spain, Canada and the United States. Her exquisite interpretive strength and ability has led her to first world performances of the Spanish composers Nelson de Macedo, Carmelo Bernaloa and Canadian composers Grace Dansereau and Randy Scott.
In 1986, Maria moved from New York City to Niagara-on-the-Lake and not only continued to perform but also was asked to direct the Grace United Church and Canadiana Choirs. She developed vocal programmes for Niagara College and the Niagara District Secondary Performing Arts School.
As founder of the Niagara Oratorio Society, she has performed both oratorios and recital works in both Canada and the United States. Maria has a number of C.D.'s the most recent is Christmas with Maria Rekrut and friends.
