This is our second stay at Villa Moonshadow. We came back because of the beauty of the house, dock, beach across the street and incredibly well appointed house. Every need is anticipated: beach towels, snorkeling gear, sun block, bug spray. The sunsets off the seating area half way down the dock are a highlight. The house is spacious with gathering areas for partying and dining or just hanging out. But one of the things we love most are the nooks, crannies, front porch and seating areas away from the crowd; ideal for reading, relaxing or napping in the breeze when a little alone time is just the thing. The managers are thorough, thoughtful, and accessible, without being intrusive. We love it and highly recommend it as the perfect winter (or summer) getaway.
Being an owner of another Villa on this island I was disappointed when my extended family decided to visit and my home was booked. But the owners of Moonshadow had a vacancy and welcomed our family with open arms. I was so thrilled with the beauty of this property. The home was impeccably clean and the owners provided us with everything we needed. From all the floats and coolers we needed to washer, dryer and plenty of refrigerator space. The home was so comfortable but I will say we lived outside most of the time, enjoying the pool and spending time in the ocean. On a windy day we just let our floats take us over to Taylor Bay Beach and then walked back home. Every evening was a delightful dinner in the screen in porch where dinner always included much laughter and beautiful sunsets. I can't say enough good things about this Villa and location. The owners were gracious and welcoming and their management team and maids top notch. Thank for the memories.Recommended for: Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers.
We were three families coming together at this gem of a property on Turks & Caicos, in order to celebrate my sister's wedding and share Christmas together. I have booked homes for vacations previously, but the level of attention and sincere care shown us by owner Lana was unparalleled, as was the beauty of the property. I couldn't have been happier with our stay and highly recommend the villa. There is plenty of room to spread out in this villa, so that each guest can have both socializing and private space. In addition to the main living area and a kitchen with all the cooking amenities you will need, there is an upstairs lounge area, the deck & pool area, and a spacious screened-in porch with eating area, sofa & chairs and a television. Although we had no problem with bugs during our December stay, it was peace of mind in the evenings and early morning to have my children playing with their toys outdoors in a screened in area. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioners worked very well, which may seem like a little detail, but means a lot to people like myself who enjoy sleeping in cold temperatures! This home is just a few minutes' walk from Taylor Bay, which is a spectacular, non crowded beach perfect for a family with young children like ours. The house provides folding chairs and plenty of beach towels for your use. Taylor Bay's waters are the most beautiful sparkling turquoise, the sand is a brilliant white, and the waters are very shallow, perfect for wading and kayaking. The house offers kayaks with life jackets, and it is an easy 3 minute ride around the corner to the bay. The beach was so gorgeous that my sister chose the spot for her intimate wedding ceremony, rather than some of the more well known spots near Grace Bay. In addition to the nearby beach, there are beautiful clear waters right at the villa's dock where guests can snorkel and swim. There is a well stocked grocery store nearby the villa, but prices are steep so try to pack what pantry items you can. During our stay we had a dinner at the villa catered by Caicos Catering which was a splurge but a wonderful way to have a fabulous family meal right by the villa's own pool, taking in that gorgeous ocean view. The house is very clean, and a mid week cleaning was provided for us and very appreciated. Lana, thank you so much for opening your home up for us. We had the vacation to remember for a lifetime!
This is our second trip to Turks and Caicos from California. We much prefer a rental house or condo over a resort or hotel. We like the flexibility of cooking our own meals or going out if the mood hits us. We often travel with other couples and families so a house like Villa Moonshadow is ideal. As good as the photos are, they don't adequately describe how gorgeous it is there. The interior is an open plan with adequate ceiling fans and A/C for warm ocean breezes or cooling off after a long day in the sun. The pool and deck look like they have recently been resurfaced and much of the interior, including the bathrooms, has been updated as well. The property is surrounded by tall trees and other vegetation and it is very private. We like to snorkel and swim which is made easy by the villa's private dock. There are also three kayaks to use for no additional charge. We kayaked around the corner and spent the day at a beautiful white sand beach with just of handful of other people passing by. It's a refreshing change from crowded tourist beaches. The place is super-clean, well-maintained and the owners were responsive to our questions before we secured our vacation dates. We'll be back!
My four girlfriends and I had a trip of a lifetime at Villa Moonshadow!! The Villa was even better than we anticipated. Everything that we needed was there. We had a wonderful property manager, Donnie who took care of anything we needed and was always available to answer our questions!! I would definitely return to this neighborhood and Villa. Taylor Bay beach was awesome too!!!
