Why This Property?
Loved the rural feel of this property. Built the carriage house in 2006, and the main house in 2011. Quiet, peaceful and less than 12 minutes to downtown which has a hospital, shopping, numerous restaurants, golf courses and wineries! Osoyoos, OK Falls, Penticton and the US border crossing are all within a scenic 30 minute drive! What's not to love!
Unique Benefits
Over 9 acres of property which backs onto crown land makes for wonderful walking/hiking/cycling opportunities. Unobstructed views of Meyers Flats Provincial Park from the front deck. Check out the free range cattle, quail, deer, coyotes and the occasional bear.

Wildlife in the morning and wine in the afternoon
Date of Stay: July 13th , 2016

My wife and I stayed at the Flaming Squirrel for a few days in July. The weather was uncooperative, but Brad and Cindy were great. Every morning we watched deer out of the kitchen window while we prepared breakfast. Cindy was even able to provide gluten free options to accommodate my wife's sensitivities. Then it was a short drive to any of the wineries. Brad and Cindy can give you the rundown on most places in Oliver, from family-friendly (kids get their own juice and bread and friendly dogs to play with) to absolute overboard posh-sommelier-speak (which can be entertaining if that's what you like). The guest-house is a complete stand-alone apartment. It has everything, including a great view of the valley. Full disclosure: I worked with Brad for several years in the Lower Mainland. Excellent Accomodations
Date of Stay: July 31st , 2016

We just spent 4 nights at the Flaming Squirrel, and were extremely pleased with everything! It was spotlessly clean, well furnished, had a super comfy bed (with good sheets), the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need to prepare meals, plus there was a very nice selection of edibles ... eggs, bread, fruit, milk, etc. The very quiet location suited us perfectly, and it was only a short drive to Oliver and the surrounding wineries. Cindy was an excellent host, and we felt comfortable immediately. We will make the Flaming Squirrel our go-to accommodations for the southern Okanagan!

Excellent
Date of Stay: July 27th , 2016

One of the best accommodations we have stayed in. Very quiet and well located. Property is a quick drive to Oliver. The unit was well stocked with kitchen supplies and several food items such as milk, eggs, juice, bread, etc. Cindy made us feel very welcome and took care of any of our needs. We will definitely return in the future.

Just as wonderful the 2nd time around!
Date of Stay: May 24th , 2016

We finally got back to Flaming Squirrel almost 2 years after our first fantastic stay and it did not disappoint. Cindy & Brad are wonderful and friendly hosts, the apartment is spotlessly clean and well stocked, and the view from the balcony still stunning. It truly is a peaceful haven and a great place to recharge the batteries. It is conveniently located close to several wineries, other attractions in the area, and to our favorite taco truck this side of Mexico on the main highway into Oliver. Another great stay! We have yet to use the BBQ so a third visit is in order sometime in the future. Kudos to Cindy & Brad for making Flaming Squirrel such a special place.

Great Place for a Getaway, Peaceful
Date of Stay: May 29th , 2016

This place is fantastic! Very clean accommodation, relaxing, quiet, restful, you have your privacy and although its a few minutes from the town of Oliver it's an easy drive in and back, we spent a couple of days doing winery tastings and a couple of days exploring the area (Ripley & Maddin Lake, Fairview road, Okanagan Falls, Vaseaux Lake, hiking Oliver Mountain area), highly recommend this place - if we go back we'd book it if it's available, great for a couple getaway, girl getaway or just a getaway for one. Great view from the deck and front room, kitchen area was well stocked with cooking supplies, never did get to use the BBQ although it was available to us, just didn't have enough time. 5/5
