This was truly paradise. Nita was so wonderful! She met us when we arrived, even though we were hours later than we told her weโd be. She was so easy to reach and always prompt with responses. She provided a phone with her number pre-programmed to call in case we needed anything! The home was immaculate and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to make all of our own meals (and smoothies!). We took full advantage of the grill and it worked like a dream! The hot tub was the best place to watch both sunsets and thunderstorms and the back hammock was maybe the coziest hammock weโve ever sat on. We used Nitaโs google maps directions and they were very easy to follow and brought us right to the door. We would definitely recommend following Nitaโs direction to arrive before sunset because it would be tough to navigate in the dark. The road is very passable with a sturdy car, our small rental SUV did great. โ
โEncantada Guest House is where you want to stay at if you're in the Arenal area! Not only is it a great location (not because it's super close to town but because you'll have breathtaking views of the Arenal Lake and the volcano). You also get access to a creek where you can go swimming and you'll have it all to yourself! Location wise, this place is near all the activities you want to be a part of (which Nita will help book!) like: zip lining, suspension bridges, horseback riding, thermal waters, etc. You're about 15 minutes away from the small town of La Fortuna, but believe me, you won't want to leave the house and area. Getting here is also super easy - you can find it in Google Maps or follow the detailed instructions provided by Nita. Nita, thank you so much for your hospitality! Encatada was simply perfect! Dobby and Riley were so sweet - Riley was ready to leave with us haha! If we're ever in the area again, we would definitely book again. I highly recommend booking this house - you'll thank me later.โ
โA beautiful house, superbly equipped, fantastic location. A wonderful place to relax and chill out. In 5 days we could both explore the area and relax. We even managed a cloudless view of the volcano from the garden. We appreciated the extra touches like plenty of towels, cold drinks ready in the fridge and the little things like spices etc. And playing Backgammon (there are plenty of other books and games too) The directions were clear and absolutely spot on. The access road was easy being absolutely no problem but a SUV is recommended solely for the clearance. Nita and Marty are excellent hosts, helpful, and friendly. They always did more than was asked making recommendations and printing out directions to our next stay. They even booked a boat trip for us. We felt as though we were welcome guests in their house. Totally recommend staying, 5 or more days.โ
Review #20912284 โLake Arenal Home, 5 Stars, Private, Family Friendly, Sleeps 8, Awesome VIEWS!!โ Tranquil, home away from home! โ โ โ โ โ Our families stay was amazing. The grounds were beautiful. The rainforest is your backyard. The kids loved going down the trail to the creek/river. There are really good views of Arenal Lake and Volcano. Nita was extremely helpful with suggestions on dining and other local activities. The property is itโs own oasis. Itโs away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to all that you need. I would definitely stay again. Date of arrival December 14, 2017
Nita was wonderful to work with! She answered emails right away and greeted us upon arrival. The home was perfect for the 5 of us! Nita did had a few extra touches we don't see at other places. She had a fresh pitcher of water in the refrigerator for us. When my teenage son did not want to share a bed with his friend, Nita pulled out the air mattress for us. There was no one staying the night we left so she offered us a late check out with no extra charge. She helped with reserving our activities. My family really liked repelling the waterfalls. I chose to stay "HOME" and get a massage by Mellisa (she was wonderful)! I do recommend a 4 x 4 to get up the hill to the home, you will need the ground clearance. Having a 4 x4 is also fun to river though the rivers with. This home is close to Zip Lining and Hot Springs and other fun activities. We enjoyed this small community with a few Restaurants (Jon's Pizza and Howler's were a few of our favorites and we found the new restaurant (Can't remember the name) just down the road from our home had the best service. You can't be in a hurry in Costa Rica. EVERY restaurant we went to, we had to tell them we were ready for the check. You must got to one of the Hot Springs the "Free" spot was a fun experience , but the resorts are so nice. I have been to Tabacon in the past and it was amazing, however I feel it is way over priced. Nita recommend a very nice Hot Springs that only cost $15pp. $28.00 includes a dinner buffet. We all enjoyed the water slides and swimming and soaking in warm water. You won't be disappointed if you chose to stay at this home.
