Aloha, Some time ago, I began plans for a family trip to Big Island. The trip was for four of us (Mom, wife, daughter and me). After a great deal of searching online, I came across Mary and Alan's town home and immediately thought it would be an excellent place to stay. We arrived in late February and were amazed with this place. Everything was well thought out to make guests feel welcome and enjoy all the comforts of home. There were extra pillows and blankets, plenty of towels and some kitchen supplies for cooking such as oil, spices, etc. For heading out, there were beach towels, beach chairs, body boards, snorkel gear and coolers. We only went once to the beach club, the pool and hot tub but the grounds are beautiful. We spent most of our time sight-seeing and going to various beaches on the island. Overall, we enjoyed every aspect of our time here. We are already talking about a return visit and would choose this place to stay in a heartbeat. Mahalo Mary and Alan!
We had a wonderful stay here with our 2 young children. The home was spacious, clean, and very well equipped. Pool within walking distance was great, and no hotel/resort crowds to deal with a plus! Close proximity to everything (beach, shopping, grocery). Highly recommend the (free) twice weekly evening show at the shops at Mauna Lani.
Upon arrival at the unit we were so happy to see a beautiful and very well equipped property. High end furnishings, granite counter tops, free wifi , printer, flat screen tv's, washer dryer, bbq and the list goes on. The unit had everything we needed from kitchen supplies to water toys in the garage. The pool and hot tub were very close to the unit and we found the complex to be very quiet making our dinners on the lani very nice. The beach club was a short drive away and the market was within walking distance. The location was perfect for our excursions around the island whether it was going north, south or just staying on the west side. Easy to find the Saddle Road for a trip to Hilo as well. I found the owners very easy to deal with and easy to contact. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for fantastic holiday to Hawaii.
The location of this condo within the Fairways was perfect - close to the pool yet far enough away so we couldn't hear any noise. The kitchen was well equipped (they even had travel mugs and water bottles!), which we appreciated since we didn't eat out too much. Great to have access to the beach club when we didn't want to venture too far (and the food and the ambiance at the Napua restaurant there is good too).
My daughters and I are frequent visitors to the Big Island and The Fairways at Mauna Lani is one of our favorite places to stay. It's a lovely townhouse complex that feels very private and the landscaping is outstanding. Best of all is the access one gets to the Beach Club, which has one of the best swimming beaches on the whole island. There's a great market nearby and one hardly feels the need to go anywhere else. But if you are so inclined (and there are a lot of magnificent beaches close by), the owners have put together a very handy resource book for those new to the island. Even we learned a few new things by reading it! The townhouse is ideally located within the complex and the owners have truly thought about providing every amenity for their guests' comfort, including many beach accessories. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything one could want or need and they had neatly labeled light switches, fans, and keys to help orient their guests. The furnishings are attractive and comfortable, with lighting options for every need--ambient, reading, etc. The guest bedroom, which is usually an after thought, was so well done. The bathrooms are spacious and elegant. The owners, Mary and Alan, went out of their way to accommodate us and responded immediately to any and all questions. I would highly recommend this townhouse to anyone looking for the perfect Hawaii experience.
