Our cottage celebrates the Life and Work of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Surround yourself in Mexican art and beautiful aesthetics while vacationing on Salt Spring Island in the Southern Gulf Islands of BC, Canada. With complimentary lime margaritas in hand enjoy the hot tub under the stars or the ocean view from the hot tub in the early summer evening. The Cottage is very privacy for your romantic holiday. We have a fenced area for pets with off and on leash walks nearby. The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with breakfast foods to ensure you can have breakfast when and how you like it, for the first couple of days. We also have a BBQ. For your entertainment there are movies, cable, games and if you like to stay connected there is a wireless internet connection and cell phone coverage for most phones. Our beautiful Beddis Beach and old growth rainforest walk are all within a short walk. We are only 10-15 minutes from town and 15-20 minutes from all ferry and airplane ports. Book yourselves an in suite couples massage or a pottery making session in Tracy's clay studio! Salt Spring Island in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia is well known for it's artist community, famous Saturday Market (March to October), festivals, music events, kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking and sailing adventures. Island life moves at a slower pace to help you unwind and relax on your holidays. Year round there are always lots of great events to partake in and many wonderful artist studios to visit, so plan for more than just a couple of days so you can take in some of the night life and outdoor activities we have to offer.

Please note the shovel for pet poo removal is on the front deck beside the rocking chair. We use it to pick up dog poo and we chuck it over the far end of our property facing the ocean. Be sure to chuck it far! It will decompose quickly
We ask that you not leave your pets in our cottage unattended. If they are crate trained or you can guarantee they won't panic and get stressed then we can work this out otherwise a pet sitter can be arranged for a fee. Thanks for reducing any potential barking, howling, etc. We trust you are responsible pet owners. Dogs who are crate trained can be left in crates.
Note: the Saturday market has pet sitting services. Be sure to check out www.saltspringpetfriendly.com (Tracy's new site) for pet friendly beaches, walks, shops and services during your stay.
There are great walking areas in our neighborhood for your pet. Just up Beddis road (turn right out our driveway) you can turn right onto Creekside Drive and down on the left hand side you will find the entrance to Creekside Rainforest (sign may say Salt Spring Conservancy). Dogs must be leased in this reserve area. For the Beach, go down Beddis Road (turn left from our driveway) and you will see at the bottom of the hill an entrance to Beddis Beach - an off leash, dog friendly beach and straight ahead from the entrance to the beach you will see our community orchard. Please feel free to let you dogs run around the orchard and meet and greet other dogs. We ask you be sure to clean up after your dog while out and about in our neighborhood as we work hard to have good neighbor relations.
