The Big Barn Farm is a quiet, gorgeous 25 acre Farm centrally located in the Green Mountains. The property consists of a large Farmhouse, multiple outbuildings and a Landmark 5-story Historic Barn. This once thriving dairy farm is now a wonderful place to Escape and get outside and Play!
The top floor of the Farmhouse has been updated and modernized into a bright, sunny, private and secure 2-bedroom apartment. Drop off your toys in a dedicated garage bay in the tractor barn, then enter the Farmhouse and be greeted by a huge foyer with a reading nook and plenty of hooks for all your outdoor gear and footwear. Once in the apartment, look straight out the bay window of the large sitting/dining room and soak in the stunning valley views. Take a deep breath, relax and settle in at the Big Barn Farm.
For your comfort, there are two bedrooms: a large Master with both a deluxe queen bed and a twin daybed. Friends and children alike will love the bright and cozy second bedroom with a double bed. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you'll need to serve up culinary delights. The bathroom has a full-sized tub with rain shower head and a large capacity washer & dryer to clean up from the day's activities.
You'll feel like you're away from it all - but you'll be at the heart of everything that Central VT has to offer!

If, at any point, we are able to re-rent the Farmhouse apartment for all dates in your rental period, you will receive any monies you’ve paid minus a $100 administrative fee. We consider you our guests - not just our renters -

We consider you our guests - not just our renters - and we know life happens so will work very hard to recoup as much of your rental fee as possible.
Unfortunately, occasionally, we will be unable to re-rent the apartment for your rental dates. If this occurs, and the reservation is cancelled 90 or more days prior to arrival, a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged and the remainder of your rental fee will be returned. If the reservation is cancelled 45 to 89 days prior to arrival, your 50% deposit will not be refunded. If the reservation is cancelled within 44 days prior to arrival, unfortunately there's no refund. Again, this policy is only in effect if our extensive efforts to rebook the property fail.
We do not give refunds for shortened stays or inclement weather.
Please consider purchasing travel insurance.
We assume no liability. As our guest, you assume 100% liability for personal bodily injury while in transit to, while on the property of, or/and while in our vacation rental located at 112 Chapman Rd, Proctorsville, VT.

Both Sheryl and Trevor have a long history with this wonderful town...separately finding our way here sometime around 1993 from New Hampshire and Vermont, respectively. Although we were both ski/snowboard bums around the same time, we never met until we were both daily-grind career types in Boston 7 years later. We shared similar friends in Boston and, low and behold, after our first conversation, we found out we had a lot of the same Crested Butte friends as well. Synchronicity. If you believe in the concept, you'll find it runs heavy here. In 2002, Trevor and Sheryl moved back to Colorado, bought this little cabin and nicknamed it the Love Shack. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
