Ketchikan is Alaska’s southeastern most city located on the island of Revillagigedo, “Revilla” to the locals. You’ll get to the island by air or sea. The sea route takes you through the majestic Inner Passage of the North Pacific Ocean In these waters you’ll find Orca and humpback whales, sea lions, seals, sea otters, river otters, and porpoises.
Ketchikan is a quaint town surrounded by the Tongass National Forest a 17M-acre rainforest full of lush cedar, Sitka spruce, waterfalls, and wildlife. There’s plenty of stunning country and shore to explore. It’s a popular destination for sport fishers, adventurers, cruise travelers and anyone who wants to experience an incredibly rich Alaska Native culture.
Ketchikan is known for many things, but two of the most known are its designation as the “Salmon Capital of the World” with its vast fleet of fishing charters and tours and The Misty Fjords National Monument surrounded by glacial lakes, waterfalls and snowcapped peaks.

The wildlife is simply amazing here. We guarantee that while you are here you will see some type of wildlife everyday of your stay. The view from your window is an active wildlife show and photo opportunities are endless, with otter, seals, and porpoises frequently seen playing near the shoreline. Absolute amazing and breathtaking experience!

I just spent 6 days and 5 nights in the Admiral Suite at the Anchor Inn by the Sea and I could not have asked for a more amazing stay and experience. Bedroom was right next to the ocean, I could open my windows and just listen to the waves hitting the rocks as I relaxed in my bed. Even was visited by some whales a few mornings, was able to get amazing pictures that will last forever! The suite was beautiful, very spacious and well stocked with everything you might ever need during your stay. Mary and Greg are super friendly and amazing hosts, I highly highly highly recommend staying here for an amazing Alaskan adventure! Stayed: August 2017, traveled with family
