This recently remodeled coastal cutie is perfect for one or two couples (and comfortably sleeps 5 adults) who want to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing retreat. This spacious 1500 sq ft remodeled home has an open floor plan with unique tree captioned views of the north end of Bodega Bay (visible from most rooms). Bay View's décor is best described as sophisticated beach, with artwork from Sonoma Coast artists throughout the home! The home's layout allows you to visit with guests in the newly updated kitchen, living/dining room, 10 foot mosaic bar area, and sunroom while enjoying the view of the bay. Curl up on the large leather sectional sofa (with recliners at both ends) and watch streaming, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime and DVD/BluRay movies on the flat screen HDTV or enjoy a book in the overstuffed chair by the cozy blue enamel gas log stove.
There are 2 beautifully decorated bedrooms, each furnished with a queen size bed and heated mattress wrapped in premium cotton sheets for chilly nights. There is a spacious main bathroom with private access from both bedrooms, a large granite vanity, and heated towel rack! A cozy double bed with a memory foam mattress provides additional sleeping space for an extra guest or two, and a great place to relax and enjoy the view or watch movies. A second full bathroom and laundry is conveniently located off the main living space. This area also contains a desk with a handy electronics charging station and printer.
For the cook there is a recently remodeled large fully-equipped kitchen with a 5 burner gas stove and double electric oven, and separate fridge and freezer units for ample cold food storage. The 10 foot glass mosaic topped bar opens to the great room and provides a fun place to sit and visit with 'the cook(s)' and enjoy a glass of Sonoma Coast wine.
Relax in our enclosed sunroom that leads outside to the 450 square foot deck and large sunny fully fenced yard where you will find the seasonal fire pit/conversation area, a gas BBQ, and hot tub! At times you will hear the ocean waves, fog horn and seals playing in the distance. You can always smell the clean ocean air the minute you step outside!
“Bay View” has a rare view of the north end of Bodega Bay (captioned by redwoods and cypress trees) and the road to Bodega Head. The view changes constantly with boats heading out to sea during the day and returning home at night. During the full moon the bay glistens. However, when there is no moon the stars fill the sky and the bay sparkles with lights from the area inns and the returning fishing boats.
Centrally located, the 'Bay View House' sits on ¼ acre at the north end of the town of Bodega Bay. Close to the Ocean, the Bay, and Town our location provides convenience while still providing privacy and solitude. We are less than 5 minutes from Everything! (the restaurants, trails, Bodega Bay, Bodega Head (whale watching), Bodega Harbor Golf Course, Porto Bodega (charter boats), Chanslor Ranch (ocean view horseback rides), Doran Beach, and entrance to the beautiful Sonoma Coast State Park (comprised of miles of sandy beaches). Getting to the beach or bayside is a 20-30 minute walk (3 minute drive). The Bodega Bay Community Center & The Children’s Bell Tower, a gift from Italy in honor of Nicholas Green and the trails surrounding the monument that lead to Bodega Dunes are only a few minute walk from the home. Continue on this path and you will pass an old Cypress tree where Monarch Butterflies stop during their yearly migration. Take the newly completed Coastal Prairie section of the Bodega Bay Trail all the way to Salmon Creek Beach. As you travel through the dunes to the beach you will see vernal pools which change with each season. Memorial Day through October walk 5 minutes to the community center's Farmer's Market with live music, veggies, baked goods, meats, jams, and more every Sunday till 2 pm. There are many things to explore both on foot and by car. Whether you spend the day exploring or just relaxing, you are sure to enjoy our cozy coastal retreat.
Other amenities include ample parking with loading and unloading right at the front door (and plenty of room for your boat), free long distance calls, Streaming Netflix-Hulu Plus-Amazon Prime Video, Blue Ray/DVD player, movie library (including The Birds of course), area guide books, binoculars, Wi-Fi, and CD/IPod/Mp3 stereo. Our house is equipped with a special tower that enables AT&T cell users to get excellent service (AT&T service is generally poor on the coast). Verizon reception is also good.

We could not have found a better place to stay in Bodega Bay! We have made several trips to the Sonoma Coast. The Bay View is the cleanest and best equipped home we have ever rented. It has quality furnishings and a beautiful décor. We loved the convenient location and peaceful setting with a view of the trees and bay. Best Stocked Kitchen Ever! Comfy Beds & Mattress Warmers! Tons of Ambiance! Many Special Touches! Janice (the owner) is great to work with and really cares about your stay being perfect. We loved all the attention to detail and many amenities. Too many things to list! This will be our first choice for our stays in Bodega Bay in the future!
The Bay View is in a great location for access to the restaurants, bay and beaches. The house is lovely and very clean, with beautiful décor and loads of amenities (candles on timers, towel warmers, heated mattresses, premium bedding, fleece blankets, and spare pillows.....). The home has the best stocked and most spacious kitchen of any home we have ever rented (not to mention it is so cute). The great room is perfect with gorgeous furnishings, and open floor plan that opens to the kitchen and dining area, and a wonderful sunroom that leads out to a great deck, yard with a fire pit, and large hot tub. There are several great walks from the house, and the beaches are a short 5 minute of less drive away (or about 20 minute walk) Janice (the owner) is a joy to work with and it is obvious she really has put a lot of care into both the home and your stay. This home is perfect for one or two couples (with 2 beds and 2 baths). We will definitely be back! This is our new favorite place in Bodega Bay!
We have rented dozens of vacation rental homes through the years....and this is our favorite. The house is in a convenient and peaceful location with a lovely view of coastal redwoods, cypress, and Bodega Bay (which can be enjoyed from inside the home through the large windows, sitting in the cozy sunroom, or on the spacious deck in the large fenced yard). The home had a perfect layout with an open floor plan and too many amenities to mention. Here are a few - every dish, pot, pan, utensil (and even spice) you could dream of needing in the kitchen; beautiful and comfortable furnishings; tons of special touches including towel warmers, heated mattresses, quality linens; and a very attentive and kind owner (Janice was available to help when needed). The home has been totally updated and renovated with care. The hot tub was a special treat at the end of the day after exploring the nearby trails and walks. Our favorite walk was a few minutes up the road from the house to an amazing panoramic view that included all of Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Bay View is at the top of our list for accommodations in Bodega Bay!
Bay View exceeded our expectations. The photos do not do this home justice. It is situated in a lovely community with easy access from your front door to walking trails and the Bodega dunes State Park. The house was immaculate and included features that made it special, such as mattress warmers on all beds, high quality linens and cookware, towel warmers, and thoughtful touches throughout the house. There is a fenced yard which was perfect for our little dog, and the deck was comfortable. Janice, the owner, was always available by text or phone and ready to answer any questions. The open spaced design was welcoming and the wrap around couch with ottoman was accommodating for the four of us. Both bedrooms were nicely appointed and shared a large bathroom. The entire place was furnished with unique furniture and art work, which really made it feel as if you were in a home and not just a rental. We highly recommend Bay View and commend Janice on the lovely home she has created to share with others.
I have never written a review for anything before - not a vacation rental, restaurant, or shop - that’s how much I loved this home. Bay View House is everything you’d want in a rental, and more. It’s extremely clean and nicely renovated. We cooked all our meals at home and the kitchen has everything you need and is much better equipped than “standard” rentals – two ovens, plenty of pots and pans, plates, serving dishes, cutting boards, bowls, and even standard pantry items. The hot tub was perfect to relax in after walking around the area in the mid-December cold and drizzle. Plenty of towels – both bath and for the hot tub – are provided for all the guests. Janice, the owner, responds quickly and clearly loves her home and guests. Her attention to detail is impressive, from the cute ties around the towel sets to the candles on timers; from the heated mattresses and towel warmers to the dog skunk kit; from the welcome bottles of wine to the stash of toiletry supplies in case you forgot something; from the supply of cozy blankets to the adorable coastal/beach decor. When the power went out the morning of our last day due to a big storm, she even offered to let us stay an extra night so we didn’t have to drive home in the rain and wind. We will be staying here again if we return to Bodega!
