Loved it! โ โ โ โ โ We loved Bison Escape! The cabin had everything we needed, plus homey extras that made the initial "move in" easier. The main floor master was perfect for the grand parents and our 3 teenagers had plenty of space in the kid's room. Having a master bedroom upstairs and down stairs was perfect for our family! I was impressed with the game room - even when we had music playing in there, the main part of the house couldn't hear it! The location is perfect for visiting nearby attractions. We enjoyed day trips and made it home for dinner almost every night. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the buffalo!...and the goats and bunnies and horses and llamas...The kids (and adults) got a big kick out of feeding and petting the animals. We really enjoyed watching the bison get their breakfast, we even got to see a little rough-housing one afternoon (actually, it looked like they were playing tag!). I highly recommend Buffalo Creek Vacations, we are looking forward to returning!
Date of Stay July 3, 2015 Helpful votes:0/0 We just love Western NC & this cabin. It was so nice to sit out in the hot tub after go out on adventures everyday! Buffalo Creek Vacations is so convenient to all the attractions. We went white water rafting through Cheryl who booked us a trip w/ Wild Water Adventures & it was wonderful! We went to Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls & another cool place that our kids LOVED that Cheryl told us about. We have rented other cabins in the past, but hands down this cabin had everything we needed & more. We will definitely be back the next time we visit the Great Smoky Mountains! Also, we drove over to the main ranch right down the road & watched the buffalo being fed which was a huge treat for our kids & then we were able to buy bison meat at their little store which we grilled out one night & it was fabulous! Date of Stay July 3, 2015 Helpful votes:0/0 Sorry for the late review, but I'd be remiss in not spreading the word about this beautiful vacation property. Although the picture perfect mountain setting itself was enough for me, the cabin in which we stayed, whimsically referred to as "Bison Escape", made our stay that much more perfect. There was something for everyone, from yummy smores making by the fire, a relaxing hot tub, a super fun game room, even friendly horses to feed. The main property is less than a mile away and well worth the visit. That's where we saw all the buffalo feeding each morning as well as minI horses, goats, and llamas. Buffalo Creek is conveniently located, close to attractions, like Max Patch, but I have to admit that at a beautiful, fun, serene place like this, and with such friendly owners, we didn't want to leave, and we can't wait to go back! Date of Stay August 1, 2015 Helpful votes:0/0 What a beautiful cabin and location! This cabin is so inviting and has everything you need (and more!)... front porch to sit on, fire pit, hot tub, grill, game room and horses right outside the door to greet you in the morning. Such a tranquil setting. We enjoyed going over to see the bison, llamas, mini horses, goats and rabbits. The owners are so friendly. It is a very convenient location to Asheville or Cherokee. We would definitely recommend it! Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+, Families with Teenagers
Date of Stay September 22, 2015 Helpful votes:0/0 PROS: Plenty of space, very comfortable bedding, in-house entertainment options for entire family, nice hot tub Cons: Odd living room seating with no end tables; . Loved the beds and the local horses are very friendly. This was a great base of operations to the local shops and not bad to Asheville/Biltmore area. Never were able to see bison and in spite of name, they never come to the Bison Escape property. (We even tried to see them at feeding time as suggested but they were no where to be found.)
