The home furnishings and floor plan are perfect for a small group or multi-family/multi-generational groups. This property was custom built by a home builder and every detail from the interior to the massive retaining walls and landscaping were meticulously executed. The home was further renovated three years ago. Michelle and I plan to continue to make this property even better and we have no doubt that your group will thoroughly enjoy this three-level house regardless of the purpose of your trip. We've already booked groups for family reunions, friend gatherings, Road Atlanta race weekends, races at the Olympic Rowing Venue, lodging for a wedding party at Walters Barn, and group fishing trips.
This home has amazing open water lake views that are unobstructed from most rooms in the house and the pool deck which is very uncommon for Lake Lanier. There is also a double-slip dock with party deck that you can use with your own boat or rent one from Gainesville Marina. We also have a four seat pedal boat available for our guests. This northeastern part of the lake is calm for fishing or water skiing or just playing around the water or using our pedal boat.
Don Carter State park is directly across the water from the house. This is the only state park on Lake Lanier (all other parks are federally run). The park includes 1,300 acres with great amenities such as horseback riding trails, hiking/walking trails, sand beach, camping and cottage sites (please ask us about how we can accommodate larger groups than 14 if needed). The park can be easily accessed with our pedal boat or your own boat/rental boat. For further information on the park, please see the included link in the 'Links & Video' section of this listing.
Last but not least, this home is very convenient to multiple venues including: Chateau Elan, Road Atlanta, Olympic Rowing Venue, Walters Barn wedding venue, UGA, Gainesville, Cumming, and the North East Georgia Mountains. Sunset Summit was the perfect lake house! It has a rare view of the lake, and is perfect for watching the sunset. The house itself has everything you could possibly need. A kitchen with 2 dishwashers and double ovens for entertaining. A dining room with a view of the lake. A living room with glass walls facing the lake and the pool. Nice size bedrooms including 2 masters, and 2 rooms with twins set up perfectly for sleeping kids! A game room - and we do mean a game room - pool table, fusball, ping pong, games, movies, books, and a fire pit just outside! A 9 ft deep pool! A hot tub! A fountain with a light show!! A party deck! A paddle boat! And there is even a creek that runs along the path to the deck!! This property truly had everything! We live in the area, and had lots of friends up, and everyone called this place "The Perfect Lake House"!! And to top it all off, Jarrett/Michelle were so welcoming, helpful, and available...I truly felt that I could call them at any time with questions! Thanks to you both for a fabulous week!!
Let me start by saying as gorgeous as the pictures are on this site, it really didn't capture the full beauty of this property! The view was truly breathtaking and the home was beautiful. We had a large group and there was plenty of space for everyone. No one felt overcrowded and was able to separate and come together when needed. It was great having the lower level where the pool table was and the 4 twin beds in the one room. The kids felt like they had their own little retreat. The pool was wonderful as well as the hot tub which is always a plus on the cooler nights. Our families loved sitting by the fireplace and watching the beautiful sunset. I couldn't say anything negative about this home. It was truly an amazing vacation with all it had to offer! Thank you, Jarrett, for being so helpful and answering all of my questions and being so prompt. It was a pleasure dealing with an owner who takes pride in their property. I would definitely recommend this property and cannot wait to go back to Sunset Summit!
This was our second trip to Sunset Summit. We stayed there in October 2016 and enjoyed it so much we just had to go back. In addition to the rec room, pool, and hot tub for entertainment, we also rented a pontoon boat from Gainesville Marina (Highly recommended) for 3 days and the grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed tubing behind it. There was very little traffic on the lake during the week and it was almost like we had it to ourselves. Jarrett and Michelle continue to improve the property. Since our last visit they had the kitchen, breakfast area, and mud room retiled and it looks beautiful. They also installed a second dishwasher, so having plenty of dishes and utensils available is no problem at all. The few times I had a question about the property Jarrett promptly and cheerfully returned my calls. We highly recommend this beautiful home and hope to stay there again soon.
Sunset Summit was a perfect place for our annual family reunion. We had lots of bedrooms, bathrooms, space for congregation and family meals, space to get away from the activity to chill, beautiful home, beautiful lake, professional quality decor, lots of fun stuff like the pool, dock/boat house, hot tub, ping pong, recreation room for the kids, quiet, well maintained. We had a group of parents, adult children and families, plus a family reunion for a day with extended guests. Perfect and our hosts were terrific! We'll be back!
Jarrett and Michelle are fantastic hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed to ensure a great stay. The property itself is massive! With its own private entrance to the lake, a double decker dock with a peddle boat, a massive pool over looking the lake. It's north on the channel so it's really quiet. We had everything onsite so we didn't have to leave! Nor did we want to! It was a great place to host our group of 10. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything J and M!!
