We currently live in Cincinnati OH. The picture comes from our many years in London, England. Our grown children also got a bit of the travel bug and are now spread around the globe -- Palo Alto CA, Beijing China, and London UK. Hilton Head is in our blood. Why This Property?
Our house has been in the Leavitt family since Ted's father bought the property from Charles Fraser on a hunting trip in the early 1960s. We bought the house in 1998 and then did a complete renovation in order to bring the house up to date. Unique Benefits
Having come to Hilton Head since 1962, our house reflects the dichotomy of a modern version of an original Sea Pines beach cottage with the simplicity of beach life. We personally feel the privacy of our setting is a unique benefit, but each person will have their own viewpoint.

Vacation Destination

22 Black Skimmer has been our family's vacation destination for the Memorial Day week for at least 10 years now. It is a splendid place and the family (13 of us) look forward to it, even yearn for it every year. We have fond memories of low country boil meals around the pool and long extended booche games on the beach with a sun tent for the whole family there rooting for each other in competition. Our family could imagine going nowhere else for this time.

Third Visit

We are returning for our third visit to this wonderful beach home in August 2020. With our 4 adult children, their respective spouses and our young grandchildren it has been a great experience to have all in such a comfortable environment under one roof. There is plenty of room for activities and private times as well, and the combination of great beach, big pool and a yard with room to play is unequalled in our experience in Sea Pines, where we have been vacationing since 1985. The elevator was an unexpected bonus, and owner Ted Leavitt has been a joy to work with. Highly recommended.

Great Location

We have been going to Hilton Head Island Sea Pines for over 20 years with our family. We have stayed at almost all the beachfront homes in Sea Pines South Beach area and once we found this home we never rent any other. It is a great location on the beach with every amenity you either need or just want. The house has a great layout to accommodate all ages with master bedrooms and bedrooms great for kids. The bathrooms have been updated as has most of the home. The best is the outside area. Overlooking the ocean, the deck has so much seating and very comfortable furniture, we find ourselves just relaxing with morning coffee and cocktails in the afternoon. The pool is the largest pool of any home we have rented with direct access to the beach. This makes it so easy to run back and forth from pool to beach. It is well equipped and the owners are responsive to every request within minutes.

We have been going to Hilton Head, staying in Sea Pines off and on for 40+ years and we love it! We started out staying in Condos, then homes as our family grew. 7 years ago we found 22 Black Skimmer and have stayed there every year since. This summer will be our 8th year there. It’s perfect for our family of 10...6 adults and our 4 Grandchildren. It is a beachfront property, well equipped, always clean when we arrive and plenty of room for everyone. The owner and the company he uses to manage are always available with a quick response to any issues that may arise. We love the large deck overlooking the Ocean, the pool and easy private access to the Beach...not to mention the large yard for the kids to play in. A true gem!!
