About Ted
We currently live in Cincinnati OH. The picture comes from our many years in London, England. Our grown children also got a bit of the travel bug and are now spread around the globe -- Palo Alto CA, Beijing China, and London UK. Hilton Head is in our blood. Ted's grandmother came from Bluffton before leaving in 1911 and the relatives owned places like Rose Hill, Victoria Bluff, and Kirk's ... more +
Why This Property?
Our house has been in the Leavitt family since Ted's father bought the property from Charles Fraser on a hunting trip in the early 1960s. We bought the house in 1998 and then did a complete renovation in order to bring the house up to date. The old beach houses were very open (you had to go outside to the downstairs bedroom!) and we converted it to a 5-bedroom, 5-bath format, while maintaining t ... more +
Unique Benefits
Having come to Hilton Head since 1962, our house reflects the dichotomy of a modern version of an original Sea Pines beach cottage with the simplicity of beach life. We personally feel the privacy of our setting is a unique benefit, but each person will have their own viewpoint.

Very Pleased
Date of Stay: April 2nd , 2016

Beautiful beachfront family vacation home in Hilton Head. My family and I have visited Hilton Head 1 week a year for over 40 years, and this rental home was by far and away our most favorite location. The view from the front porch is spectacular. Bedrooms are comfortable and many offer great views of the ocean. Kitchen is well supplied. Property grounds are well maintained. Maid service very respectful and attentive to detail. The property owner was very responsive and helpful. Overall, my family was extremely pleased with our stay and would highly recommend this rental home to anyone seeking to enjoy a family vacation in Hilton Head.

Ideal Vacation Spot!
Date of Stay: March 26th , 2016

We took our spring break trip to HH this year. This was our first trip to the island and our first time staying at this rental. Our research paid off because this place is tops! It was ideal for our 3 generation family. The grandparents took over the new private suite while my sister and I husband and family (5 kids ages 6-12) took over the main area and the first floor. The location is perfect as it is a easy bike ride to South Beach and Harbour Town. Sea pines is a great area and this home was a great fit with our family and our idea of a vacation: stunning views, private pool, great location, private lot, easy access to the beach, biking distance to restaurants, good layout. As others have said, the owner is very accommodating and responsive which is another huge bonus! Response

Best Kept Secret
Date of Stay: December 2nd , 2015

This home is absolutely one of Hilton Heads best kept secrets I should be keeping to myself. However, the owners are so pleasant to work with I'm sharing our experience with others. The home is tucked away in the dunes and trees of Hilton Head's Sea Pines beachfront. All 6 bedrooms are well furnished and private. All the amenities are up to date and well taken care of by the property management and owner. The kitchen has an ample supply of utensils and cookware. My family of 9 with 4 generations spent our Thanksgiving here. We all agreed that this was our best beach trip and one of our favorite Thanksgivings of our lives. Thank you again Leavitt family for sharing your lovely home with our family and being a part of our life memories.Take Care.

Awesome Spot
Date of Stay: November 18th , 2015

Was there with my Mom, two Aunts and some cousins and had a great time. Main open living area is fantastic with kitchen, dining and living rooms looking out to the deck and pool with views to the ocean. The elevator came in very handy for one of my aunts. House was clean and the kitchen well equipped. Large Weber grill poolside that we did not have an opportunity to use. I love sports and would say the only shortcoming was not having a TV in the main living area to watch NFL, movies, or....but there is one in the living area on the ground level leading out to the pool. Lot of schedules to coordinate but hoping to make a return trip next year and checking out the new living room furniture that was arriving the day of our departure.
