About Pamela
My family has deep roots in the Cinque Terre. My father was born in Riomaggiore and emigrated to America as a young man. Although I was born and raised in Florida, our family returned to Riomaggiore for long summer vacations whenever we could. When my children were born, I wanted to instill in them a love of their unique heritage. So we moved to Italy, to the village of our ancestors! The years we ... more +

This villa is simply amazing! It is rare to find any rental with a lawn, especially one with such an amazing view. It is a lovely place to stay with a family, or a quiet place to reconnect as a couple, sitting on the lawn chairs taking in the sunset with a glass of wine. We stayed there as a family, 4 adults, one child, and we had plenty of room. It's easy to access the village bellow, and the train station for day trips, although, with a view like this, you may not want to leave.

Perfect Family Vacation
Date of Stay: June 1st , 2011

I chose Riomaggiore because it was small enough where I could take my family and not have to worry about them and still be near enough to do day trips. It was awesome. Not only is the town perfect and right on the railway, but the house was amazing! It is high on the hill and looks out over the ocean facing a little southwest so there is sunshine all day. The house was clean and well stocked with utensils, washer/dryer, and wireless internet - a must with kids. Be warned it is a hike up and down to the town, but it is well worth it for the view and breeze. There is a garden patio where we drank wine and watched the sunset night after night. We can't wait to go back.

La Mejor Vista del Mediterraneo!!!
Date of Stay: May 30th , 2011

Yes spent a week with my husband ! La casa es muy confortable. All kind of cooking tools you can imagine. Perfect place to cook. La casa es muy comoda, tiene lavadora y secadora de ultima generacion, que hace todo muy facil. El acceso a la casa es facil, y no hay tantas escaleras como en el resto del pueblo. Definitively a place to rent for a long time period and enjoy, la bella italia, la perfecta cuccina italiana, the beaches, and the view ! A great house for the entire family, from the babies to Nonna y Nonno !

Home away from....with ocean

it's all about location! The views from the house are just what i dreamed vacationing in the Cinque Terra were about. Shopping for wonderful wines, cheeses and vegetables in the little town of Rio Maggiore was delightful. There's a bank with an ATM. on the street, restaurants and pubs and sunsets, and water and little fishing boats pulled up for the night, it just doesnt get any better. Exploring the area by the train that runs up and down the coast makes everything amazingly easy, and i dont speak italian. Buy a week pass and use the train like you would use a bus....go to Pisa, Florence or north to Genoa which has ruins, museum,an aquarium and zip home to country living with drinks under the apricot tree in lovely lawn chairs. It made such an impression that i can recreate it clearly in my mind when so many other experiences i have had while traveling are just a blur. You can take the train to Vernasse the next town north, have dinner and walk home at sunset. Simple elegance is the perfect way to describe my having a vacation within a vacation......i found myself breathing it all in .....deeply. and feeling at home. Thank you Pam for sharing, I recommend this to all who want a really rich experience, a singular adventure. come away with a sense of what it feels like to actually live somewhere else , i can taste the sea, the local wines, the ripe tomatoes the warmth of sun on stone and so many sights that speak of history and people living their lives and know that i too breathed that air and walked those steps and saw shadows move across a familiar wall and more........i was able to live the romance of the place .....

Simply Breathtaking!!
Date of Stay: May 13th , 2011

The views are stunning and the accommodations are extremely comfortable. I stayed at this villa with my wife, daughter, and in-laws. It is in a wonderful location that is easily accessible to shops, restaurants, train station, and the beach. You can sit in the lawn and watch the sun set on the Mediterranean Sea sipping a glass of local wine. Words do not describe the view. It is situated at an elevation that almost gives you a bird's eye view of the landscape.
