Deposit Requirements
We require 1/2 upon reserving, balance due within 30 days prior to arrival date.
Must be 26 years old to reserve. Must provide a valid driver's (proof of age) license at time of reservation.
We accept personal checks and credit cards through Paypal at 2.99% service charge.
If guests wish to cancel his/her reservation, a $100 fee applies to all cancellations. Any cancellation that occurs 60 days or more, prior to the check in date will be refunded 100% of the total paid, less the $100 cancellation fee.
House Rules
This home is in a neighborhood setting and guests are required to be respectful of neighbors. Quiet time is 11 pm to 9 am. Smoking is NOT permitted indoors

Why This Property?
There's something special about growing up on Lake Erie. Life revolves around the water and the lake. In summer, we live at the beach. As a teen, I was a lifeguard at Freeport. The fishing and our sunsets are world class. In fall, the water temperatures moderate the climate, producing perfect conditions for grape growing and our local wine industry. Unique Benefits
Lake Erie sunsets are beautiful and relaxing to watch from anywhere on the property. Eagles frequent the beach as well as other wildlife. I also enjoy stargazing and seeing the Canadian lights across the lake at night. From here, you are a short 26 miles from Canada. Care to swim the distance? Girl's Weekend in Lake Erie Wine Country

What a pleasant surprise to find Lure of the Lake even better than the pictures. From the cozy bedrooms to the spacious family room and well appointed kitchen, this property exceeded expectations. The sun room / dining area was comfortable for our party of 6 and we enjoyed all our meals overlooking the crashing waves. Beach access is easy and convenient and the nearby wineries offer plenty to do. Cathy called the morning of arrival to let us know the house was ready early and that she'd be lighting the pilot in the gas fireplace because the temperature would be dropping over the weekend (the heat in the house was sufficient on its own but we used the fire to help us forget it was blustery outside in April!). She stopped by while we were unpacking the cars to introduce herself and urged us to call if we had any concerns or needs whatsoever. She gave several winery recommendations and made us feel right at home. All in all, this girls weekend was just perfect and several of us are thinking of returning with our kids next time! I've rented dozens of houses and this one stands out in every way. You won't regret it (but dress appropriately and bring layers. It's still Erie ;)

A great place to stay!

There were 6 of us that rented this home for a weekend wine trail tour. We loved it! The location is great, the house is beautiful. Our first reaction was to stay at a hotel for the weekend, which would have meant that the 6 of us sitting and talking in the evenings would have been difficult. We loved being able to hang out together and watch tv, look at the lake (beautiful view!) and just talk. Everything about this house made it feel welcoming! We hope to return in the future! In fact I've already told friends about it as a great get-away location.

Lure of the Lake an Ideal Long Weekend
Date of Stay: October 22nd , 2015

The property manager was flexible with our arrival and departure times, which was helpful. The lake house was welcoming. All the same amenities as prior stays, plus a welcome update to a larger dining table where the six of us could enjoy meals together and play table/card games together. We were happy to find the small golf course on the New York side of the state border still open for the season. We feel we can depend on Lake Erie Beach Cottages for great, convenient yet well priced getaways.

Wonderful Weekend Away

We have stayed at the Lure of the Lake House 4 times now. The house is roomy, clean and the perfect location for visiting both PA and NY wineries, golf, sightseeing, and enjoying beautiful views of Lake Erie. The chilly weather on this trip was made perfect by lighting the gas fireplace and enjoying some wine and conversation. Will we come back? Of course!
