About the Property
Country Acres Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths plus an additional sleeping area and sleeps up to 10-11 persons. Also available within a few hundred feet, if needed, is a pavilion with picnic tables, chairs, gas grills, and a campfire circle of large rocks for relaxation, story-telling, or reminiscing.

Country Acres Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths plus an additional sleeping area and sleeps up to 10-11 persons. Also available within a few hundred feet, if needed, is a pavilion with picnic tables, chairs, gas grills, and a campfire circle of large rocks for relaxation, story-telling, or reminiscing.
This cabin features a full hickory kitchen with an eat-in bar area, and includes an electric range, microwave, blender, dishwasher, lots of silverware, plates, glasses, cooking utensils, and much more.
The Great Room features a rustic, native sugar maple hardwood floor which still shows the tap holes made by the 'sugaring' process years ago. The Great Room is furnished with a sofa, love seat, recliner, and a large, 'antique' plank-style table with a bench and chairs seating from ten to twelve people.
A tastefully decorated full bath and a bedroom with a queen size bed is on the main floor. One is struck by the rustically beautiful wooden floors, ceilings and trim.
The loft affords a beautiful view of the two-acre lake, and includes a king-sized bed (new in 2014), and additional sleeping space of two single beds on rollers for those 'extra,' younger guests.
The ground floor includes a bedroom with a full-sized bed with a single trundle bed underneath, a men's and a ladies restroom and shower, and a utility room with a washer and a dryer. Rounding out the ground floor is a family room with a queen sized sleeper sofa bed, a cot, a TV on 60-channel Dish Network plus the Pittsburgh local channels, DVD and a VCR. A small baby crib and a larger crib are also available as needed. Again, there is a beautiful view of the water.
SPECIAL NOTE: All linens, towels, toilet tissue, coffee and hot cocoa mix are provided with the rental charges as a convenience to our guests!

About Ida
Wife & family of Mennonite pastor & strawberry farmer. Owners of farm for 40 years, formerly growing strawberries, corn, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and other vegetables. Now the farm has been converted to beautiful hay fields.

My nine children grew up on this farm while my husband was a teacher, pastor, and farmer. While walking on the farm, we saw that it was a beautiful setting to build a lake, pavilion, and later a cabin for when the family came home.
Decided immediately to rent out the cabin for vacationers and share the hospitality with so many more.

The cabin description was more than accurate, it was perfect. The property was spot clean, well-maintained, and just wonderful. Ida Maust and her family are extremely friendly, cordial, and welcoming. The property itself is beautiful and it was nice to be able to use the fire-pit. 11/10 would stay again!

My family stayed in this cabin for a week in the winter. We enjoyed the scenery and the quiet. It is close enough to easily drive to Deep Creek Lake and Wisp - we even skied in the morning and came back for lunch before going back for the afternoon. Well-stocked kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and the many places to sleep made it a wonderful place to share memories.

My brother and I, along with our significant others struggle every year to buy our parents the best Christmas present. We decided upon a weekend away as a family so that we could get away from all the stress and technology in life and get back tk what really matters. With the help of my brother's girlfriend we stumbled across this cute and quaint little cabin. To make the trip even better the area had a snow come in the week before our arrival and we were able to truly enjoy a snowy trip to the mountains. There was a hill off from the cabin that was perfect for sled riding! Mrs. Maust called on the day of our departure to ensure our stay went well. Everything was very homey and perfect. We look forward to returning again in the future!

Traveling with four young children can be hectic, to say the least. It was so lovely to find a retreat away from everyday life that was readily prepared for our family! A warm inviting cabin, with breathtaking scenery all around. The toybox was a definite hit with the kids, and even though the temperatures were in the 30s, we went out on the paddle boat three times! We can't wait to visit in the summer!
