This was our first trip from the states to overseas and we experienced the ultimate vacation! Have you ever met someone and just knew from the start that you had friends for life? We did just this when we booked this beautiful cottage. Tansy was so helpful right from the start of our reservation until we departed on our last day. If we had questions ( and we did) she was prompt in getting back to us. She gave us a lot of great advice, but let us do what we felt was best without question. She definitely made our vacation seamless! Our cottage was well appointed and we didn't need for anything. I can't even say how comfortable the bed was! We slept so soundly every night. The pups and cats would come and go as they pleased ( with our permission of course) and that was just fine for us since we had left our dog with friends and were missing him. Tansy gave us maps and so many hints about the locals, which all came in handy. Our trip was made complete when we were invited to partake in the festivities on the first day of the Tour de France. The riders were coming right in front of one of the homes that Tansy and Mike rent, and on that day we were introduced to nine of their closest friends and family. We were welcomed into their circle and everyone was so attentive to us and our wants and needs! It was so special, and we've got memories that we'll cherish forever! We'll definitely be going back! ( I want to go now!) Thank you Tansy and Mike for a memorable trip!
Our six day stay at the apartment over the barn at Ferme de l'Elise was a perfect end to our vacation in France in August 2016. Communication and planning with Tansy prior to our arrival was timely and efficient and made for an easy arrival to Houesville. We enjoyed every minute of the countryside. Tansy and Mike are amazing hosts going above and beyond to ensure our stay was fun and relaxing. They are just the nicest people you will ever meet! The apartment was beautiful with everything we needed, and we made use of the outdoor patio at the end of our busy days. We loved all the country sounds, the animals, and the sounds of those church bells... just beautiful! All of Tansy's recommendations for sightseeing were spot on, we only wished we had a few more days to see more. Tansy arranged a car for us during our time there, and because we left on a Bank Holiday, we were unable to return it as most businesses are closed. Tansy and Mike helped us with that and ensured we made our train on time. We would love to return one day to the Normandy area and would not hesitate to recommend this property to our family and friends who may travel there. Thanks again for a memorable stay! Tansy and Mike are helpful, knowledgeable hosts. Ferme d'Eglise is a charming cottage in the Normandy countryside of the Manche area. We enjoyed getting lost, having adventures and discovering lots of, off the beaten track locations , as well as following Tansy's terrific guide to the D day landing sites and her restaurant recommendation.
