Our apartments at Surfside Martinique are not just beautiful; they’re also incredibly comfortable and functional! With ample square footage interior and a large deck just outside your door, you’ll have plenty of room to relax and all the space you need to make the most of your Caribbean escape!
Absolutely! While Martinique may feel like a distant paradise, it boasts one of the best infrastructures in the Caribbean, thanks to its status as a French Department. You’ll find smooth, well-maintained roads that make exploring the island effortless.
In our small village of Tartane there are tiny grocery stores, a gas station, several restaurants and cafes and some small marches where you can buy local fruits and vegetables. You can also buy fresh fish daily caught by the fisherman of the village.
Need medical assistance? You’ll have access to top-notch hospitals and skilled doctors nearby. For everyday needs, supermarkets stocked with French delicacies and fine wines are just around the corner. And let’s not forget the local bakeries! Imagine indulging in flaky pain au chocolat or fresh baguettes just five minutes from your door for the perfect breakfast treat. It’s a little taste of France, right in the Caribbean!
Surfside Martinique is located at the very tip of the peninsula we call the "Caravelle" which is the French name used to describe the ships used by Christopher Columbus who discovered the island in 1502.
Directly in front of the apartment is our beach, which we lovingly call "Surfer's Beach", and as you can see from the pictures of the surf, it is a name well chosen, although it is not the only surf spot on the island. There are several other spots on the east coast and others on the northwest. We have surfboards to rent right here and can help set up lessons if you desire.
Just a few steps east of Surfside Martinique, you’ll discover the stunning nature preserve—an outdoor enthusiast's paradise! Hike through lush trails, where vibrant flora and fauna abound, and don’t miss the chance to unwind on secluded beaches that feel like your own private getaway. There are hikes for all levels in the preserve from 30 minutes to 3 hours.

They had met while surfing at that same beach where they eventually built their dream home and raised two children. Sylvie worked for the Chamber of Commerce of Martinique and Christopher was an English teacher. The entire family surfs, the kids are now adults and the parents are retired. Now they are offering their properties to people looking for a great vacation. They are available for help while renters are there and are happy to help make your vacation a memorable one. It is also located in a part of the island that lends itself to nature walks and experiencing nature. When sightseeing, travel distances are shorter, due to it's location in the middle of the island rather than being at the extreme northern or southern end of Martinique. The infrastructure of the island is such that we have without a doubt the best roads, signage, and safety measures in the Caribbean. You will not find any island in the Windward island chain that has the infrastructure Martinioque does.

We only met Christopher's wife sylvie and she is very lovely and welcomed us with a great ti-punch. She helps you with everything such as tips what to do on the island or if you missing something in the kitchen. You can also start a nice little hike from there and it's really right at the beach. We loved it there!

5/5 Sehr schöner Aufenthalt, der uns in Erinnerung bleiben wird! Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, blitzsauber und es fehlt wirklich an nichts. Wir haben uns sofort heimisch gefühlt. Die Klimaanlagen sind sehr leise, die Küche ist neuwertig ( extra großer Herd und Backofen, separater Gefrierschrank). Sehr großzügiger Außenbereich, schöner großer Pool, alles sauber und gepflegt. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und der Strand ist in wenigen Gehminuten erreichbar. Sylvie und Christoph sind super nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, bei denen wir uns sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt haben. Wir waren schon in unterschiedlichen Unterkünften auf Martinique und dieses Haus ist unser top Favorit. Verreist als zwei Pärchen (40+) und ein Teenager. Liebe Sylvie und Christoph, vielen Dank für diesen tollen Aufenthalt, wir kommen gerne wieder!!! P. Courtney + John User Profile Courtney + John March 2019 Christopher and Syvlie's property is everything that we hoped it would be and more! They have been sharing their home with travelers for a long time and have thoughtfully created a space that is not only inviting and warm, but also intimate and private. We loved starting our mornings sipping coffee in one of the porch hammocks, spending the whole day soaking up the sun at the surf beach (which is literally steps from your door), making dinner in the fully stocked kitchen and relaxing in the garden patio with a drink at the end of the day. Sylvie went above and beyond, providing local recommendations for hikes and distilleries; even offering to call and make us a reservation at one of her favorite restaurants which we loved. We loved our time at Surf Side Martinique and can not wait to go back!
