About Dana Bungay

After travelling for 20+ years in Mexico, Arizona was recommended to us by friends. It's now our new destination for Winter Sun. We call ourselves Rainbirds, because we are escaping the Winter rain in Seattle, not the snow!

Why This Property?

My husband and I fell in love with Mexico on our 20th Anniversary trip. We knew we wanted to have a little piece of paradise. We traveled to many places and when we went to Manzanillo in 2000, we knew we wanted to return over and over again.

Unique Benefits

Drinking coffee in the morning or eating dinner on the deck, a wine salute to the sunset are our favorite things to do here.

Tired of the huge resort areas with their multitude of vendors and timeshare pitches? Then Manzanillo on the Mexican Riviera is the place for your next vacation!

Not ready to pay resort prices? Our little place is comfortable and cute - located right on the beach named Playa Azul in the middle of Manzanillo Bay. It has two baths, two bedrooms (one king-size bed, and two double-size beds, one folding cot), fresh paint and an eclectic collection of Art, including regional Folk Art. The kitchen is remodeled, with tiles handmade locally. It is fully equipped with all the things people need to 'cook in': pots and pans, cooking utensils, cutting boards and good knives, microwave and blender, dishes and glasses. Bath towels and linens are provided. Housecleaning and linen laundry service are provided at the end of your week, but you can request mid-week service for an extra fee.

This second-floor unit has two private balconies, each with a view of the grounds and the ocean. It's in an eight-unit complex with a pool, sunning patio, palapa (cabana). Go through the gate in the seawall, and you are on the beach! Walk 2 miles in either direction. Email for more photos and special current Season and long term rates.

This location is GREAT - out the front door, is the main local bus line - or hail a taxi - with easy access to everything you want to do. Or walk, within 3 to 4 flat blocks find cafes, restaurants, small markets, pharmacias, laundries, little stores. It is a well kept secret, but this has always been one of the safest areas for tourists. Colima boasts the lowest crime rate in all of Mexico, due to high employment for the locals. Puerto Vallarta PVR and Guadalajara GDL are each about 4 hours away by bus or car.

Our personal representative, Roberto, will check you in and answer all your questions. He speaks excellent English and some French. He can arrange fishing and scuba trips for you. He has snorkeling tours, tours to the plantation/ jungle, caves, hiking, Barra de Navidad or Colima City, to the black sand beach and turtle sanctuary, more! Because you will contract with him personally, he is able to give a discount from what travel agencies charge. He is the best tour guide we have found in all of Mexico!
