This house is a Hollywood home built in 1991. It is a true 'The Hills' home and keeps you out of the rat race of LA. I have lived here for the past three years and absolutely love waking up in the morning and walking throughout the Hills and all the way up to the sign and over to Griffith Park. Perfect for a vacation, long term rental, or temporary lodging for relocated executives. Located righ ... more +

About Dave
My wife and I primarily live in Canada, the cold winters there prompted us to buy this home in Los Angeles where it's alway's sunny and warm!
Why This Property?
We rented for a few years in different neighborhoods and were drawn to this home and location because of it's close proximity to nature. It's a quiet and extremely friendly neighborhood. You'll wake up to deer climbing our hillside and yet your just a few minutes from all the Hollywood hot spots.
Unique Benefits
We are up high in the hills so the views are fantastic. The hidden hollywood staircases allow you to walk to the market or restaurant in 3 minutes. Have lunch at the Beachwood Cafe and you'll be surrounded by celebrities.

I have to say this was my first experience with home away and I have no regrets. If I could give this experience more than 5 stars I would. The house location is perfect; an easy walk up to the Hollywood sign or Hollywood Boulevard in the opposite direction. The Venice Venice Beach boardwalk and Santa Monica Beach are only a 40 minute drive, and Universal Studios is less than that. This neighborhood is where many Hollywood icons live and you very likely will bump into celebrities. My wife and daughter walked down the street to have their hair done and had an NCIS actor sit down right next to them and strike up a conversation! As for the house - it is fantastic! We cooked out on the deck grill several nights while we watched the sunset over the Hollywood Hills. Every room was perfectly done - I really don't know where to start! Dave was a fantastic host and left us tips and short cuts to use while on our stay. All I can say is that I was sorry to leave and I will rent this home again. If you are considering coming to this area - do yourself a favor and stay here. You won't be sorry.

Amasing LA house!
Date of Stay: August 1st , 2016

This house is absolutely spacious and comfortable! We travelled with a large group of people and it was big enough to accomodate all 12 of us freely. There is a lot of living space that allows people to hang out, socialize, or spent time away from the crowd. This villa has lots of character that gives you this LA/ Hollywood vibe. Not to mention it is equipped with everything you may possibly need. The neighborhood is lovely and picturesque. We enjoyed amazing views on a park and a city from the house balconies, terraces, and the street. The location is great as well. The villa is close to all the main LA atractions and sightseeing sites as well as restaurants and cafes. The house owner Dave responded to our questions or requests promptly and was exceptionally helpful. Thank you Dave for a great time we had in your house.

Trustworthy owner, perfect stay!

In addition to the detailed reviews of the former renters, it's important to let you know that Dave, the house owner, is very reliable. In this price range, this is very important for me. I have always received a very quick response to my emails and Dave took care of all of my requests.

A genuinely nice surprise *****
Date of Stay: December 15th , 2013

If you plan to be in Los Angeles and want to be close to the downtown area, then the Hollywood Hills should be on your list. We spent Christmas in LA, in part for work, and also to visit family. We were looking at something by the beach, but as it was December and cooler, we opted for the Hills and planned to do some hikes. The Hollywood Hills turned out to be a great neighborhood with the charm of a small town and yet is only a stone’s throw from one of the most commercial cities on the planet. Once you drive past the tourists that line Beechwood St taking selfies with the Hollywood sign as a backdrop, and up Graciosa or Hollyridge, the vibe changes. The streets become narrow, winding, and the neighborhood by its geography is self- contained and the people are great. We were invited to a party down the block, and we had only been there for two days. Dave’s house is situated just around the bend from the top of the hill with a direct view of the famed Hollywood sign outside his front door. The large windows from the living room, bedrooms and game room all look out to the canyon and beyond it the skyline. It is quite an impressive view and the pictures on the listing don’t quite capture it. True to the musical roots that the Hills is famous for, Dave’s house is a music enthusiast's dream. The living room has a built in audio rack with high end components, internet radio and a thumping sub-woofer. He has the same in wall set up in the lower level connected to a Pioneer Elite flat screen. The kids watched Pacific Rim on that and the sound was phenomenal. The high end touches are everywhere in this house, from the Nest thermostats on every floor, to the LG steam washer and dryer, to the Hansgrohe Pharo shower, to the Dyson vacuum cleaner. The furniture throughout the home has an understated elegance to it. Once you are inside you get the feeling that you’re staying in someone’s home as oppose to a short term rental. Nothing about this place is sterile or generic. When you are use to a certain amount of space and comfort and luxury at home, and you are able to find the same and more from a vacation rental, you’ve gotten your money’s worth and it makes for a great trip.
