We were 5 families and we had a great time at Joseph's place. What we liked was that each bedroom had its own bathroom. There were also 2 kitchens so that could be both good and inconvenient if you plan to cook a lot - we liked in though as we could all spread out. There's also enough space in the living rooms for a large group to hang out. Best of all the house was clean. The location is close enough to NYC metro area - so it's easy and quick to get to. It's in a secluded street in a secluded lot. So it feels like you're far from civilization even though there was a village nearby with a grocery store and other conveniences. For people who like the outdoors, there are good hiking trails nearby. We didn't have time for other outdoor activities as we were just staying 1 weekend.
We traveled to Pine Bush for a family memorial service and wanted to have the entire family under one roof. Hard to do but not for this HUGE home. There were areas within the home that we did not even use. Very quiet, very private and well decorated with antique furnishings. The owner was easy to deal with. If we ever need to return to Pine Bush, we'd rent this home again.
great property for games outdoors and in, bonfire at night in the field, s'mores were delicious. we had ages 14 to 80 and all enjoyed. My family is pretty funny anyway! the bedrooms were clean and comfortable with a bathroom for each room. Having to haul dishes and pots and pans from one kitchen to the other and then trying to remember what belonged back in what kitchen was annoying but not serious. Otherwise well stocked. We enjoyed the Grist Mill fro dinner but they serve much too much food. Sam's Point was a great short hike to a beautiful lookout. I thoroughly recommend it.
We rented the home for our son's graduation from West Point and were very pleased with how accurate the description of the home was. Joseph was amazing and attended to our every need! Would definitely return if in the area!!
Last weekend my brother was getting married at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY. I'll be honest, prior to coming up to the area I just wanted a more affordable room that could accommodate my friends and family. I happened to stumble upon Hidden Cedar Inn on a Website and it had a lot rooms for a good rate split between our friends so we booked it. That turned out to be a fantastic decesion because it was beyond anything I could have hoped for. This house is tucked away in a secluded area on a small road surrounded by trees. Inside is a comfortable, spacious, well designed home. Cooking dinner for over 10 people was a breeze with the 6 foot grill on the outdoor patio. We had a great stay and will definitely be back. Only downside was the lack of bagpipers as shown in the photos ;)
