The owner of this property requires full payment to reserve.
I spent a Friday and Saturday night with my son and four of his friends so they could enjoy snow boarding at a local mountain. We did a similar trip last year to another mountain. This house was so much nicer than the house we stayed in last year. We paid more but all six of us agreed it was worth it. The house feels roomy and the floors are very clean. The heating system does a great job keeping the house evenly comfortable throughout. The basement, where the game room and the winter entrance is located, is dry so there is no musty smell. The ski area is a very short ride away from the house. The boys enjoyed the pool table. Even though there was enough room for all but one of us to have his own bed, the boys all slept in the loft. There is only one bedroom. I enjoyed my time away from the boys watching the many available cable channels on the TV located in the bedroom. The boys watched one of the many DVD movies available on the TV in the game room. The bathroom is large and clean. Many of the places I've stayed at have very cramp bathrooms with small showers. This house has a full sized bath with a good sized vanity top. The owners provide towels and linens which are of a high quality. The kitchen has just about every pot and pan you need. There are plenty of cleaning products under the sink as well. The open floor plan of the kitchen/living area make it a wonderful place to hang and talk while you're snacking. There is a dishwasher so you don't have to wash your dishes by hand. There is also a washer and dryer in the basement if you need it. The boys were able to dry their snow boarding clothes for their second day. We didn't use it but the owners provide an area in the basement to wax and tune your snow gear. The views from the oversized deck are wonderful. There is a gas grill out on the deck and furniture for relaxing on. I can imagine spending a week relaxing on the deck during the summer would be wonderful. If the boys want to repeat their trip next year we will definitely be booking this house again.
We really enjoyed staying at this home for our kids Winter Break. Easy Drive to Jay Peak Mountain, Water Park and amazing restaurants. The kitchen was fully stocked with all necessities (and more). And there was plenty of space for our family of 4 to spread out a bit. Overall, a great experience. We would definitely return!!!!
We truly enjoyed everything about this house. Its perfect for groups of up to 8 people. We had six adults, two kids and our dog and all of us were very comfortable with the sleeping arrangements. Everything is provided at the Strom Haus, from bedding for the futons, to kitchen supplies (dishes, pots, pans, ice cold beer glasses, shot glasses, paper towels, trash bags, seasonings and more), to snow shoes, tuning station, entertainment (cable TV, Wifi, pool table, etc), and most important of all the Webber Grill. This house has everything a small group would want in a vacation rental. Although the house is beautiful and accommodating, the location is really what sets the Strom Haus apart from other vacation rentals. The house sits alone on a piece of property that boasts many snowshoe/hiking trails that take off right from the back yard. There is a river that runs through the woods and under Journey's End and creates some spectacular scenery with the snow and ice. The house is also about 15 minutes from Jay Peak and a stone's throw away from the Canadian border. The locals and the local small businesses were also phenomenal. We visited Troy General Store on our first night for some pizzas that exceeded our expectations and beer. We must have visited this store three or four times during our visit, purchasing everything from pizza and beer, to local Vermont products such as apple cider, maple syrup and honey. There were also a few locals who seemed to use the location as a hang out and were seeking to have friendly conversations with whoever would engage. It is an awesome local spot. We also visited Brault's Slaughterhouse and Meat Market, which happens to be just across the street from the General Store. We got some of the freshest steaks and beef jerky possible and they were delicious on the grill. Overall the Strom Haus and the location exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful and the Strom's have done a great job with providing their guest with the staples we all seem to overlook when traveling. The property itself is amazing and the location and the locals are out of this world. This house offers so much for families that love the outdoors and outdoor activities, regardless of the season. We are already discussing plans to return in the summer/fall to take full advantage of the hiking trails and the overall serenity this location is sure to deliver. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Thanks so much to the Strom's for allowing my friends and I to enjoy your home. The house came complete with everything you need to have a stress free weekend. We rented the property so that we would have access to hiking and biking at nearby Jay. It was convenient to all that we needed to do. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at Stromhaus for 3 days. We relaxed in the mountain air and enjoyed trips to Jay Peak. We also enjoyed hiking on the nearby trails. The house itself had a fully stocked kitchen and was impeccably clean upon our arrival. We really couldn't have asked for a better place to relax!
