We find a lot of visitors simply want to curl up with a book on the lanai, looking out across the waterway at the wildlife, boating and the ever changing tropical colors of thethe first day or so. Best location on the propery

I have just returned from five weeks at one of my favorite places. I have been renting this condo for the past six years and have been coming to the property for the last 30 years. It is in a great location on the property, in building #1 at the back. The screened-in lanai looks out onto the Intra-Coastal Waterway with its entertaining boat traffic and numerous birds. Plus, it is away from the pool and road noise. The owners have been easy to work with and the place is always clean and comfortable.The open floor plan makes it nice to visit, entertain, and prepare kitchen fare while having the opportunity to watch for dolphin and manatee in the ICW. The ample kitchen is very well stocked and has updated appliances. It is tastefully decorated in a clean and spacious way.You can start the day with a sunrise from the lanai over the ICW and end it with a beautiful sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, just a short walk away. The property is well landscaped and beautiful to walk. The pool is situated above the lagoon where boat users can rent docking spots. The beautiful Crescent Beach is just across the street with its ground quartz sand that never gets hot! Such a treat!! The beach is ample for a great walk and can be good for shelling.It's a 2.5 mile hike on the beach or key taxi into Siesta Key Village with its shops and eateries. Closer yet is the Crescent Market area with stores, restaurants and recreational rentals. A close drive is the Legacy Trail, for hiking or biking, on the old Ringling railroad line running from Sarasota to Venice. Smooth, straight and with no auto traffic. Off key, Sarasota holds many treasures. The Ringling Estate is well worth a day. The Marie Selby Botanical Garden should not be missed with their outstanding orchid room and grounds. The Van Wezel venue for the performing arts always has offerings worth checking out. There is a Whole Foods in Sarasota and just across the Stickney Point Bridge (bikeable) is Earth Origins and Publix for closer food shopping.This rental has become a fond place for family reunions and making wonderful memories of fun in the sand, surf and sun.•Submitted: Apr 24, 2016 •Stayed: March 2016
