Fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the surf and the gentle breeze coming off the sea. Super relaxing. I have returned to this property 3 times. Some nice updates to the patio and bathrooms have been made since I was there last. The condo is in a great location near center of island but closer to Christianstadt. There are some fantastic restaurants close by (don't be afraid to drive on the left -it's easy to get used to it) and don't miss The Cast Iron Pot, almost right across the street, local and very fresh food. Also Toast is awesome for breakfast or brunch. Salute is also very good for dinner. This condo is located on non-swimable beach (too rocky) but the beach at the resort next door is available to swim and snorkel. The pool is very quiet with no pool pigs (which I define as people who head to the pool early to put towels on chairs then disappear until after lunch and which I hate). Most of the residents are owners of the condos so it is VERY quiet. In fact, out of all my extensive travels, this is the quietest place I have ever been.
We went back to Dolphin's Paradise again for Christmas break 2016 and had yet another fabulous, relaxing vacation. The condo is getting continual upgrades; we are repeat guests, and with every visit the condo just gets better. The new bathrooms are gorgeous! We spent this trip taking a tour of the beaches of St. Croix - there are so many great options if you are looking for options around the island for big sandy beaches to relax and sunbathe, including some hidden gems. We highly recommend making the trip to Sandy Point. It's only open Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm part of the year, but it's one of the nicest beaches you'll find anywhere. We're planning our next vacation back to St. Croix and will absolutely stay at Dolphin's Paradise again.
My husband and I along with another couple rented Richelle's condo at Pelican cove the first week in February. We had a fabulous time. The rental procedure was super easy and Richelle answered all,of our question since this was our first trip to St Croix. Prior to arrival we received a PDF of information in how to get to the condo, check in process, local grocery stores and places to eat. The condo is about a 15 minute drive from the airport and the directions were very precise which was nice since we arrived late in the evening. When we arrived, we found the condo clean and well stocked. The master bedroom opens up to a patio overlooking a grassy area that leads to the beach. We didn't have to have the air conditioning on the entire time we were there due to the wonderful breeze coming off the ocean. We quickly settled in and walked over to the Palms resort to get a bite to eat. The condo is central located on the island. Each day we traveled to a different part of the island to explore. We used the cooler, beach chairs, and towels provided by Richelle. It was fantastic that we didn't have to pack those items with us. The kitchen is fully stocked with any type of cooking utensil you may need. We would make breakfast in the morning and have coffee on the patio. One evening we purchased some local fish and grilled it on the BBQ. The only drawback is the beach if you are looking for a swimmable beach. The beach here is very rocky (coral reef and shallow) but the condo association has a nice pool that we would relax around each evening. I would definitely recommend in getting a car if you want to see the island. It is such a diverse island with so many beautiful beaches. The people are friendly. My husband I are looking forward to going back next year to stay for two weeks.
Richelle provided, in advance by email, all the information needed to find her condo, to properly access it, and to have a great time there. The condo is very spacious, clean and tastefully furnished. It is located in an attractive, well-maintained development with a large, beautiful outdoor pool just steps away. The condo is also very near an attractive beach on the north coast of the island, a few miles from the town of Christiansted. In order to fully enjoy the island, a rental car is recommended, since the several other beautiful beaches, many nice restaurants and other attractions are all located some miles away from this location. The condo was quite secure, and the area nearby was very quiet at night, making for easy sleeping. The rooms were all large, the beds were comfortable, and Richelle has provided all the extra equipment and supplies for an enjoyable extended stay there (such as complete kitchen dining ware and utensils, many small kitchen appliances, beach chairs, extra beach towels, etc. -- even condiments in the refrigerator and a couple of bottles of rum). The cable TV, wifi and all other electronics operated smoothly, with no problems during the week that we were there. In sum, the condo provided a comfortable, attractive environment in a central location, from which to drive to the many beautiful beaches, the fine restaurants, the two little historic towns and the many other interesting tourist sites and attractions on St. Croix.
We had the best vacation ever and it was largely due to this amazing condo. The unit was beautifully decorated, the newly remodeled bathrooms are gorgeous, and we had more than enough space for the 4 of us. We had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The condo has amazing views and the whole complex is super quiet with just the sound of the ocean. The beach access was perfect and we enjoyed the entire grounds of Pelican Cove; we felt like we had the place to ourselves. There was no one on the beach, and hardly ever anyone at the pool, which is simply beautiful. We will definitely stay here again when we go back! The owner was great to work with and made sure everything was ready for us, and provided tons of information for us, including online app support with all the condo info as well as recommendations for restaurants, grocery stores, beaches and tourist attractions. The condo had everything we needed, from snorkel gear, portable cooler, portable beach chairs and super-fluffy beach towels to make trips to St. Croix's beaches super easy, to a fully stocked kitchen with a complimentary bottle of rum to get started. The kitchen even had bunches of spices and supplies to make it easy to cook. The condo has WiFi, and it is good enough for streaming video - we brought along our Roku and had no problems at all watching our favorite shows (and sports teams) on the one rainy day during our trip. I'm already planning our next vacation to St. Croix, and plan to stay in this amazing condo again!
