Elevated about 400 feet above the beach is MUCH cooler and lots less buggy and more secure than beach property which is all public in Costa Rica. (FYI- if you rent a beach front house- it is all public land with zero privacy rights). Preferring the privacy, cooler breezes yet still being close to the beach this is theoperfect place rainforest reserve. An abundance of wildlife freely walking, flying by entertains us every single day. Living at the edge of the rainforest where we have lots of primary trees, houses an abundance of nature. Only minutes to beaches is the perfect way to stay cool at night but go to the beach quickly.

Vacation homes on the beach in the public and maritime zones are all a minor enclave of usually not more than birds as the mammals cannot get to nor from those properties with any natural corridor. We wanted a healthy and living population not trapped by development as they are in those areas of public and maritime located vacation homes. We wanted for ourselves and our guests, a secluded and completely private tropical place teeming with wildlife who actually LIVE here with us!
