We spent 2 wonderful weeks in Ms. Woods apartment in April 2016. It came highly recommended from friends who had stayed there. We were charmed with the coziness and the amazing views. The apartment was equipped with everything and more that you would need. Cafes and groceries were close by and Debby was always available by email to answer any questions and make recommendations. We did not have a car but once we became familiar with the bus transportation, we went everywhere; Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo. The quiet beauty of Villefranche was always nice to come back to at the end of the day. I could certainly say that anyone who wanted to explore the South of France would love the location of Ms. Woods home.
We stayed in this glorious apartment for serveral weeks. As soon as you open the door you are met by beautiful panoramic views across the bay to Cap Ferret. The living area and bedroom are both at the front and lead onto the balcony (and the view) – a gorgeous spot for early morning coffee and evening meals. The apartment is comfortably furnished with everything you would need for self-catering. The bathroom has been renovated to a high standard, kitchen is well equipped including a dishwasher and washing machine – really is home away from home. There is also another nice sitting out area with outdoor seating. With the views of course comes some elevation and a bit of a climb from the town to the apartment. Having said that we didn’t move the car all week and found the short walk via the steps to the shops and beach each day an enjoyable part of our stay. We also had our road bikes with us and found some good climbs in the hills behind for anyone looking for some pre-alps training or a nice way to do some sightseeing. Villefranche, the beach, town and surrounding area really is a beautiful part of the world. We will definitely return and are planning on a longer stay next year.
I cannot say enough good things about this property. It is exactly as described in the introduction and other visitors' reviews, and only better than the pictures show. It is superbly equipped with absolutely everything you need in a home, and that's exactly how we felt there - like at home. I absolutely recommend it, and would love to come back any time!
This apartment is beautiful and beyond our expectation! What wasn't clear to me in the pictures was the second view from the garden area. There is a picnic table, two reclining lawn chairs and another gorgeous view of the bay. We fell in love with Villefranche-sur-Mer from the balcony where we listened to music and had many lovely meals. The walk is uphill. I believe we counted about 150 steps from the street. I'd say it was a 15-minute walk to the beach. We visited surrounding towns, but we both agreed that upon our return to the area we would stay here again. Also, neither of us are fluent in French. We didn't let it stop us from renting a boat a couple of days we were in town. People here are extremely friendly and make the vacation dreamy. It was so wonderful; I will be returning to attend The Institut Français which is a 5-minute walk from this apartment. If you choose this property, you are making a wonderful choice.
We had an absolutely sensational week in this apartment. We were heartbroken leaving it as it felt like home and the view was spectacular. We would normally go out for meals every night but the apartment was so comfortable that we stayed in and cooked on many of the nights, eating and relaxing on the balcony, watching the sun go down. We used it as a base to visit nearby towns and beaches by train and bus, to access Villefranche beach itself and just for relaxing and taking in the breathtaking view. The apartment is lovely, spotless and has literally everything you'd ever need. The only warning I would give is that it is quite a steep uphill walk from the old town/train station, either via many steps or via the winding road. This wasn't in any way a problem for us, as we are very active and appreciated the exercise. But it might be a bit too much for people with young children, people with mobility difficulties or people who just don't like any form of physical exercise! We loved this though. The key selling point of this apartment is the view, and if it was located any lower down the view just wouldn't be anywhere near as panoramic. We would come back here in a heartbeat.
