Apr 27, 2017 The Perfect Spot and Perfect Hosts Date of Stay Apr 23, 2017 This beautiful getaway is the perfect spot for any kind of gathering -- family reunion, a girls' or guys' getaway, a wedding weekend, a corporate retreat -- you name it. The home is equipped for gatherings of all sizes... and has amenities and features that appeal to all ages. Fishing? You bet -- in half an hour we caught too many fish to count. Hiking? Trails too numerous to mention... and just minutes from the start of the Appalachian Trail, Amicalola State Park and the beauty of Amicalola Falls! Shopping and history? Visit nearby Dahlonega to learn about the gold rush and pan for gold. Beautiful surroundings? The house is located on a private lake with a wonderful view of the North Georgia Mountains. The landscaping astounds with flowers blooming throughout the property... and Mother Nature shows off with wild azaleas blooming in the woods. Wildlife? We saw geese and deer and heard stories of other native critters from our hosts, Becky and Randy. Becky's passion is raising interesting breeds of chickens and ducks (Mmmm...fresh eggs!). Enjoy the fun of watching these fascinating creatures and admiring the custom chicken coop built by Randy! (Soon to be featured in an episode of Coops Dreams on Discovery's Destination America channel!) Relaxation? No way to feel stressed here ... between the hot tub on the deck, the views, the fire in the gorgeous fireplace, the well-equipped kitchen, the outdoor firepit for roasting s'mores and the amazing hospitality of the hosts. This property is their dream spot ... it shows in the many custom touches in the house and the property and in their desire to make sure their guests don't have to worry about a thing. Whether you want to be lazy or be active, stay in or go out... this is an awesome spot for your next gathering! I promise Becky and Randy will take great care of you.... and once you've stayed with them ... you'll be family for life! Our family spent a long weekend at this awesome lodge with the most generous hosts! So much to do for all ages on the property and in the adjacent areas. You can be busy every minute or just sit back and enjoy the view from the home, hot tub, deck, or dock. We had so much fun, relaxed, fed the chickens, hiked, swam, explored, enjoyed every moment and created everlasting family memories. Thanks Becky and Randy !
