About Cheryl
My brothers & my husband had shared a vision of expanding my fathers buffalo ranch when additional property became available to purchase. With all our knowledge & experiences combine we have built 3 log homes & have been renting them out since 2004. All the furniture in this cabin has been handmade by the wood on the property! Even the covered wagon bed, that was custom built my my father. Onc ... more +
Why This Property?
My father had a love for trains & it was his idea to purchase the cabooses & turn them in to vacation rentals, We thought it would be very cool to tie in w/ the bison. Kind of gives it an 'ol western feel! Most folks think you have to go out west to see bison & they are surprised to find a herd in the Smoky Mountains of NC!
Unique Benefits
Be the 1st of your friends to stay in a real caboose! While staying at in our 1960's restored caboose we feel you will really enjoy the peace & tranquility of being secluded on 65 acres. The children will just love looking out the windows & literally seeing the bison roaming out in the pasture! Another great amenity is the kids being able to "unplug" & take a hike to our custom designed play ... more +

Grandson loved the caboose!
Date of Stay: April 9th , 2016

My grandson and I stayed in the Caboose for one night. Everything was clean and very comfortable. This little caboose is finished out so nicely, from the granite counter tops to the heated tile floor in the bath. My grandson will never forget this experience; how many times do you get to sleep in a train car while looking out your window at bison grazing! So unique!

Great fun and lovely digs
Date of Stay: April 8th , 2016

Spent a great night in the new Caboose- accommodations were clean and well appointed- granite counter tops, digital television, and quirky details that make you smile. We spent the day at the Biltmore then drove to Buffalo Creek - it was easy to to find- directions were excellent. After a walk to check out the farm animals, we relaxed and had a great nights sleep - the beds were super comfy. All the animals were even more spunky in the morning - and the hi light was watching the buffalo come on into the corral for the morning feeding. The host was incredibly responsive. Answered all my questions quickly. The ranch is set in a beautiful part of the country, and since I love animals - so I would definitely return. I highly recommend - a great treat that will make you smile.
