I am a 13th generation native of Rye NH. I am proud to have a rich heritage in this wonderful seacoast community. My children work with me in managing our rental properties in Rye.

My wife and I are like hundreds, maybe thousands of others that have stayed here yearly over the past (up to) 50 years and have the magical sunrise view forever etched in our minds. When the property was known as Crown Colony you ignored the "rustic charm" focusing on what we call the very best ocean view of the NH seacoast. Since Dan purchased the property it has been transformed to Philbrick's by the Sea - a 1st class vacation spot with every comfort of home and then some. Forget everything you thought you knew about the cottages - they are gone! - and replaced with "homes". Meticulous landscaping, quiet nights listening to the surf (some homes even have fireplaces) and every home has that view of the amazing sunrise. Hungry? You are minutes away from downtown Portsmouth NH, the choices are endless. In full disclosure my wife and I live just an hour away - and we can be found here at some point every week though out the year! While owning a home on the NH seacoast is beyond our means, at this point of our life we are able to afford to rent our second home here. We actually keep a web cam there pointing at the ocean for when we get "home sick!"
