Hello, I am Ruth Duncan. My husband, Gerald, and I have been renting our cabin for 3 plus years Homeaway/VRBO with 59 reviews all 5 stars (3013466). I am a former owner of my own firm based in Blacksburg, VA that specialized in real estate appraising. We have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren. Life is good.
Why This Property?
We had this cabin custom built on our property. Most of the timbers and wood is tulip poplar sawed and worked by hand on the site. The site sits up high looking down on 2 Appalachian mountain steams rushing by to New River and on from there "talking" as they go. The site is semi-secluded with nice mature trees and various species of wildlife. So cozy, quiet relaxing and peaceful.
Unique Benefits
There are several unique features. Foremost is the beautifully decorated interior featuring antiques and presently the feel of a first rate hunting lodge. There are 2 mountain streams flowing by that can be seen and heard readily from the spacious front porch. There are several hand built foot bridges for walking around the property. Fantastic Place - Bucks Lair Cabin

antastic Stay for my family !!! I'll just list why it was so great as follows: - Extremely easy check-in and check-out. - Location easy to get to. Just about a 1/2 mile off US 460 - Close to Mountain Lake, the New River, Walker Creek, the Casades, Virginia Tech, Pandapis Lake, etc. - Secluded and quiet with babbling brooks in front of the long covered porch. - The cabin was very clean, theme decorated & furnished to perfection...with many pluses. - The owner's had Panera pastries & fresh organic milk waiting for us when we arrived. - The covered picnic area between the two brooks....very nice touch. - Oh not to mention the cute Red Salamander my grandaughter found on a tree . I could go on and on...... We will definitely return to stay at Bucks Lair Cabin1 Thank Ruth for a fantastic stay.

Perfect Weekend Away!
Date of Stay: March 26th , 2016

What a wonderful cabin! We loved spending the weekend there with our 4 children. The highlight was playing in the creek Easter morning- such a beautiful setting. We also enjoyed hiking and touring the Virginia Tech campus. Everyone has been busy chatting about when we can return! Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us.
