About Peter DeSoto
I (Mike) and my wife Brittney bought this place 10 years ago. We have an 9 year old son and 11 year old daughter. We spend part of the year (Sept-Mar) working with different churches and missionaries in El Salvador and the rest of the year operating a seasonal business in California.
Why This Property?
This is hands down the most beautiful and safe place in El Salvador. One of the last remaining areas of virgin beaches in El Salvador and one of the best waves in Central America
Unique Benefits
Amazing views, great for large groups. Large kitchen with 2 full size refrigerators and 2 ovens, microwave, blender, water cooler, BBQ, and all you need for large groups

Best Trip yet...
Date of Stay: January 2nd , 2018

This was my 5th time down to the property and the best time yet. Our family enjoyed the calmer weather (little wind) and huge beach during low tide. The location, as mentioned is one of the more beautiful stretches of coastline in the country. We took advantage of some fresh fish purchased two beaches down, and some HUGE shrimp fresh off one of the boats. The recent updates to the property made it even better, more comfortable. For a family get away, we love this place. The surf is a big draw for me, and the waves are great on the winter season (April - Nov.) but with our younger boys, the flatter surf was great! Great for learning and we took advantage of some low tide days to take the inflatable boat and the fishing rods out. Conclusion, large or small surf, the beach is full of things to do. Thanks for another great vacation!!

Beautiful Property - Great for Families!
Date of Stay: April 17th , 2017

Our family stayed at this beautiful property during Semana Santa, which is typically a crowded time at beaches in El Salvador. We had the beautiful beach all to ourselves and enjoyed fishing, surfing, and hanging out on the beach all week. Our kids (ages 10 and 12) loved exploring the property, looking for hermit crabs, and skateboarding on the ramp located right on the property. We had friends with us for part of the week, and the property is so big that even with multiple families using it together we felt like we all had our own space. The breeze on top of the cliff, where the property is located, keeps things cool and bug free. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to cook, and the caretakers are so friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time relaxing and enjoying the beauty of El Salvador! I recommend this to anyone who loves the outdoors!

Best Place in El Salvador!
Date of Stay: January 20th , 2017

Best Place in El Salvador/the World! This is my favorite place in El Salvador. My group of friends and I have now rented this pace out around 8 times. The surf is awesome whether the waves are big or small. If they are big, the point get's kicking and its awesome. If its small, the beach break is still tons of fun! The small waves are also amazing for beginners because the beach is all sand and the waves don't have much power. Aside from the surf, the beach is also one of the largest, most beautiful beaches I've seen anywhere. The tide changes things quite a bit on this beach, but at low tide it is a huge beach. We were able to get games of frisbee, cricket, beersbee, spikeball, etc going on the beach during our time here. The house itself is designed for people who love the outdoors, which I do. It is exactly how I would want a house to be designed at Punta Mango. The rooms are small but have all you need for sleeping, which is all they are designed for. It really encourages people to be outside and enjoy the waves, the beach, the view, the pool, the hammocks, etc. It is located atop a cliff and the breeze is awesome up there. There is plenty of space on the property to hang out and enjoy the day outside. The gazebo on the cliff is beautiful as well. Every time we come back something new and awesome has been added. The kitchen and dining area has gotten much bigger and their is some very nice furniture that's been added to the hangout area. Mike, the owner, was great at answering any questions we had and helping us get everything we needed set up for the weekend. Even with some requests which were very short notice on our end, he was able to help us and get everything ready. The caretakers (a wonderful family) are also extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the area. They helped us get fish and oysters for dinner and also helped us keep the place nice and clean during our stay. He made our experience that much better. I can't get over how beautiful and awesome this place is. I want to go back whenever I can. If I could live here, I would. We contemplated the idea numerous times during our stay :) I'll spend my time daydreaming about my next trip to this house.
