About Ted
I have worked in the electrical and heavy equipment maintenance fields and also as a consultant but my main interest lies in aviation. I am a multiengine rated commercial pilot and a former flight instructor. I currently own a Piper Comanche aircraft which is based at nearby Sawyer International Airport. My wife, Lynn and I are pleased to welcome you to our summer paradise!
Why This Property?
The property that the cottage is located on and the surrounding acreage has been in my family since the early 1920's. I spent all of my summers at the lake while growing up and learned to love the wilderness so much so that in 1981 my wife and I moved to our current residence which is located on the lake approximately 1.4 mile from the cottage. In 2008 we began a complete renovation of what was ... more +
Unique Benefits
If you are looking to get away from the crowds then this is the place for you! The cottage sits on over 600 feet of lake frontage which offers you unparalleled privacy. The lake is big enough to hold an abundance of game fish such as walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, perch, crappie, bluegill an sunfish while remaining relatively quiet and unpopulated. For our floatplane friends, Bass L ... more +

Had another great stay at the cottage. We are planning to return next year. What a great place to stay if you are looking for fishing, fun or just relaxation. The cottage is well maintained, the lake is beautiful and Ted and Lynn's hospitality is outstanding.

Charming Cottage
Date of Stay: October 9th , 2019

Ted and Lynn's Cedar Bay Cottage is the real deal. We stayed 5 days in October. Clean, comfortable. The pellet stove fires up quickly - we experienced summer, fall, and winter in 5 days. From shorts on Wednesday to snow on Saturday, then ice on the car Sunday morning. The cottage dates to the 20s or 30s, but they updated it well. It's tricky to find, but once you do you will be glad you did.

Such a cozy cabin
Date of Stay: September 13th , 2019

Thanks for making everything so pleasant! We had a great time in the UP seeing the sights, and it was nice to come back to a nice, quiet cabin after. Sadly, it was too cold to swim even with a wetsuit, but maybe next time! We really loved our stay, wish we could have stayed longer!

Quiet solitude
Date of Stay: August 25th , 2018

I was looking for a quiet, peaceful escape and I found it. Total privacy and seclusion in a perfectly outfitted and clean lakeside retreat. I was delighted by the cabin, the spacious lot, and the relaxing lakefront. I enjoyed every minute of my time at Cedar Cove and am planning my next visit, as my stay was absolutely a very special long weekend.
