About Ted
I have worked in the electrical and heavy equipment maintenance fields and also as a consultant but my main interest lies in aviation. I am a multiengine rated commercial pilot and a former flight instructor. I currently own a Piper Comanche aircraft which is based at nearby Sawyer International Airport. My wife, Lynn and I are pleased to welcome you to our summer paradise!
Why This Property?
The property that the cottage is located on and the surrounding acreage has been in my family since the early 1920's. I spent all of my summers at the lake while growing up and learned to love the wilderness so much so that in 1981 my wife and I moved to our current residence which is located on the lake approximately 1.4 mile from the cottage. In 2008 we began a complete renovation of what was ... more +
Unique Benefits
If you are looking to get away from the crowds then this is the place for you! The cottage sits on over 600 feet of lake frontage which offers you unparalleled privacy. The lake is big enough to hold an abundance of game fish such as walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, perch, crappie, bluegill an sunfish while remaining relatively quiet and unpopulated. For our floatplane friends, Bass L ... more +

Quiet solitude
Date of Stay: August 25th , 2018

I was looking for a quiet, peaceful escape and I found it. Total privacy and seclusion in a perfectly outfitted and clean lakeside retreat. I was delighted by the cabin, the spacious lot, and the relaxing lakefront. I enjoyed every minute of my time at Cedar Cove and am planning my next visit, as my stay was absolutely a very special long weekend.

Awesome!
Date of Stay: July 3rd , 2018

Ted & Lynn, thank you so much for creating and offering such a delightful vacation get away. It was great reading and hearing of the cabin's history. It has obviously been and continues to be a labor of love and dedication for you both. My wife and son had never experienced the UP so when I had the chance to bring them along for a reunion they were excited. Your cabin was the first and last place I looked for us to stay. It is all that you state and more. While we enjoyed the usual attractions the UP has to offer, Presque Isle, Pictured Rocks, Dog River Falls, etc., we equally satisfied with our quality time at the cabin; either on the lake, on the front porch, sitting around a fire or just hanging in the cabin. As I was finishing loading the car for our too soon departure, my wife and son we enjoying one last cup of coffee and look out off the dock and when they came up to they stated they were already planning our next visit. I told them we'd certainly be back in 5 years, but they informed me that it wouldn't be that long. So, Ted & Lynn, thank you again for a wonderful stay and look forward to seeing you again soon. Best Regards, Tim & Family

Great Lakefront Cottage
Date of Stay: October 1st , 2017

This cottage was exactly as described, you will not have any surprises once you arrive. It was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and we really liked having a laundry room. Wildlife viewing and star gazing both were great right from the deck! Fishing right off from the dock wasn't to bad either. The cottage is close to many attractions like waterfall touring, shopping, and museums. Quiet, peaceful, and very relaxing would describe our stay. We highly recommend a visit here to anyone! Thank you Ted and Lynn for your hospitality.

Beautiful Getaway
Date of Stay: August 12th , 2017

Beautiful lake view cabin. Ted and Lynn were such gracious hosts. They had a basket with all the ingredients for s'mores waiting for us. If you want to stay busy, Marquette has lots of shops and great restaurants. Or you can go to Negaunee and Ishpeming for some antique shopping. All are close by. I enjoyed sitting in the enclosed porch reading a good book and watching the hummingbirds come to the feeder by the window and of course making s'mores by the fire pit. Highly recommend and will be back next year.
