Its exterior building plan consists of a rectangular tower and an irregular, hexagonal bastion with elongated flanks that extend south into the river. The tower is about 30 meters tall, and 12 meters wide. It is an impressive looking building and it is regarded as one of the main tourist attractions of Lisbon.
Jerónimos Monastery : This is a world heritage monument and the most impressive symbol of Portugal’s power and wealth. It was built in 1502 on the site of a hermitage founded by Prince Henry. It was built to honor Vasco Da Gama’s voyage and to pay homage to Virgin Mary. The church interior is luxuriously decorated and extremely impressive. There is a lush green garden that adds to the enchanting effect of Jeronimos Monastery. Lisbon Oceanarium : The Lisbon Oceanarium is an Oceanarium in Lisbon, Portugal. It is Europe’s largest indoor aquarium, designed by Peter Chermayeff. The Oceanarium has a large collection of marine life including penguins, seagulls, some bird species; sea otters (mammals); sharks, rays, sea horses, starfish, sea snails, jellyfish, amphibians, mollusks, marine plants and terrestrial plants.
