Amelia Lighthouse was constructed in 1839 with materials taken from the formal Cumberland Island Lighthouse in Georgia. In 2001, the Lighthouse was transferred from the U.S Coast Guard to Fernandina Beach, where public tours of the site and its history are organized for visitors.
