Best Places to Visit On Your Panama City Beach Vacation

Panama City Beach is popular for many reasons. It has gorgeous beaches, lots of restaurants and things to do for the whole family. You can go back year after year and never do it all.

Here are a few things to do during your stay in this outstanding Florida city.

Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum

The Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum is located in the city's main tourism district on Front Beach Road. It has several floors of weird and wacky artifacts, as well as some elaborate art pieces that will amaze. It also has other features, including a mirrored maze and a high-tech 7D Moving Theater. While the building appears small, it is packed with activities. A family could easily spend three hours or more there, depending on how long you spend looking at all the museum items.

Wonderworks

Active families will love Wonderworks, located across the street from Ripley's. It features more than 100 hands-on science exhibits but also has laser tag, a 6D motion ride, and a ropes course. Allow plenty of time to experience this venue because you and your family can easily spend an entire day there.

Shipwreck Island Water Park

Those bored of the beach can head to Shipwreck Island Water Park on Hutchinson Boulevard. This park is rated four stars and higher by visitors and includes waterslides, a wave pool, rapids and a lazy river in the tropical themed park. It's the perfect break from beach days.

Golfing at Amelia Island

Those who want a more relaxed activity should go over to Amelia Island for a round of golf. While the island is small, just 13 miles long and two miles wide, Amelia Island has six golf courses from which golfing enthusiasts can choose. Seven of the islands golf holes overlook the ocean and Golf Magazine awarded the greens at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort with the Silver Medal Golf Resort title.

Florida's Oldest Bar

While visiting Amelia Island, you can take in The Palace Saloon. This is Florida's oldest bar, operating since 1905. It is located in downtown Fernandina and often features live music along with its Pirates Punch.

Downtown Panama City Beach

The historic downtown area boasts of niche shops, including a shop dedicated to hot sauce, seafood restaurants and ice cream vendors. It is on the beach, so you can also include a stroll down the white sands to watch the waves.

Pier Park

This area has an assortment of activities located within walking distance of the beach. There is the XD Darkride Experience and the Super Bungee. There are a lot of shops and eateries as well to enjoy your family time between activities.

The fun-filled days in Panama City Beach can be exhausting, so you will want a comfortable place to stay overnight. That's where Home Escape can help.
